Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

But I did take the chance to get some answers, and I don't think this is what we've thought it was. We need to talk about this before we run out of time: nothing kills the mood on a honeymoon like a dead wife.

He was serious about wanting to help her. That's worth enough to sit down and really talk this through.

[Des's intense stage whispering kicks up a notch as he continues to hang out of the aisle like a madman.] Are you insane? You don't go to bat with people like this. They'll sell you anything and make it sound like the truth. Maybe he's right, but it ain't worth making deals with him over. Any deals.

[ zarad lays one calming hand on des' knee when he gets all super intense over there, and says in a careful tone, quietly: ] You're missing the vows.

[Des relaxes a bit, but he still looks put out. Vi's yelling up there doesn't really help matters, so it's all a very nice cocktail of Des shutting the hell up. He shoots Buffy a look that says LATER in big neon letters and straightens back up.

And also places a hand on top of Zarad's. Just because.]

I had some trouble in the end getting away. Burt had a sudden awards show for me to be attending. [ he lowers his voice more, as if realizing he's TALKING OVER THE GOOD PART OF THE WEDDING. he does add though: ] Isabella agreed to go in my stead and he relented finally.

Well, I'm glad you made it.

[ she turns to smile at him, then gestures up towards the ceremony. ]

Right on time, too.

[ which is her subtle cue for des to SETTLE DOWN ON INTERRUPTING THE CEREMONY. ]
