Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

[ francesca is doing her best to distract herself from all outside concerns and just enjoy this wedding. it's been surprisingly easy, for the most part, particularly because seeing luthir so happy and being surrounded by all this love is making her feel giddy, which tends to lead to more smiles and extra romantic behavior (boyfriend beware), further emphasizing her 36 46 disguise check for the evening.

at this moment, however, she'd like to dance, and keep dancing, so feel free to bump into her here (except val'drin and finnick, who have no choice but to dance with her).

she's also going to track luthir down and make him share a dance with her, as she was his best man after all. ]

[valdrin]

[ val'drin is less impressed with the romance of the evening, more inclined towards finding the whole situation hilarious (luthir getting married). but he does love to dance, so he'll take advantage of the evening to be impossibly amazing on the dance floor with francesca (dance 36), even as he looks back over his shoulder with a frown. ] Is it just me, or is this wedding suspiciously lacking in a bride and groom?

[socialgraces]

[ she's able to follow his lead perfectly (dance 36, as well, with charm b/c she's definitely ~in the mood~ even if he's not), a testament to the hundred of times they've done this over nearly as many years. she follows his gaze briefly, but doesn't seem as surprised. ] Perhaps they couldn't wait to get a start on the honeymoon.

[valdrin]

I can't help but be rather concerned for Violet. Does Luthir even have any idea of what marital duties consist of? Did someone draw him any diagrams? I'm half worried he'll think the idea is to spend the evening plaiting each other's hair.

[socialgraces]

You're incorrigible. Stop it. [ but the way she's grinning as she ducks her head, moving even closer to him, suggests she means the opposite. she runs her fingers lightly through the back of his hair, adding absently: ] Besides, I believe his knowledge of the subject has vastly expanded over this past year. [ she was right in the room next to his, ok, she knows. ]

[valdrin]

[ her fingers in his hair draw his attention back, and his eyes trace fondly across her features with a smile ]  Is that what they've been saying in the newsletter?  

[socialgraces]

[ she returns his look, obviously smitten with him and the moment ] If there were a newsletter, I'd be the one writing it - shameless gossip I am - so yes.

[valdrin]

Should I take that to mean Luthir's the type who kisses and tells?

[socialgraces]

He doesn't have to - I'm quite astute, as well. [ she grins, pulling herself closer to him, grinning as she teases: ] However, I've had enough discussion of Luthir's marriage bed. I fear we're inching toward it becoming weird.

[valdrin]

I know other beds we might talk about that might be more intriguing.

[socialgraces]

Mm. I couldn't agree more. [ she leans in with a smile to kiss him warmly. besides, everyone else out here is making out, too. ] I believe I may have to reconsider my choice of seductive undergarments, however. I've never known you to have such an aversion to garters.

[valdrin]

[ mmm, he'll happily accept that even if... that conversation took A TURN HE DOESNT WANT TO GO DOWN. distract, distract. ] Well, if I might throw out a suggestion, you could always forego the undergarments entirely.

[socialgraces]

I'd already taken that into consideration, but I had intended it to be a surprise. [ giving him a most provocative grin, she moves in to settle her cheek against his ] I never realized how intoxicating weddings could be. Or perhaps it's just being here with you that has me so affected.

[at some point when franny is ... no longer dancing with val'drin, he holds his hand out to her.] You aren't too busy for a dance with me, are you?

[socialgraces]

[ her face lights up as she glances from his hand back to his face ] I'm never too busy for you. In fact, I was hoping you'd make your way over here eventually.

I'd never miss a dance with you. Wasn't that how we first met?

[socialgraces]

I believe it was. After, of course, your most rude introduction to Sir Wellington.

[he laughs at the memory.] I could never forget that. [he leads her into a dance ... and does a pretty snazzy job, ngl. (dance 26) ]

[socialgraces]

[ damn son. you'd have her beat except sHE ROLLED A NAT 20. no charm needed, apparently. look at them superstars, tearing up the dance floor ... with their slow-dancin'. ] Did Burt Becksworth require you to attend dance lessons, or have you always been this practiced?

Yes, actually. But I might have known a bit before. I remember attending formal functions, and some of it felt like muscle memory when I was learning.

[socialgraces]

I suppose that would make sense, from what you've described of your previous life. [ she smiles at him warmly ] Well, I'm always happy to find a skilled dance partner. They can be few and far between.

[he smiles back.] And I'm always happy to dance for you. Shame that reasons to do so are few and far between, as well.

[socialgraces]

Well, it seems this won't be the last wedding you and I will be attending, sooner rather than later.

[he chuckles.] Myri and I haven't even begun to discuss dates.

[socialgraces]

Well, you and I may view time quite differently, after all. [ b/c she's turning 200 this year!!1 and a couple years ain't no thang to someone who lives so long ]
