Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

[ she's able to follow his lead perfectly (dance 36, as well, with charm b/c she's definitely ~in the mood~ even if he's not), a testament to the hundred of times they've done this over nearly as many years. she follows his gaze briefly, but doesn't seem as surprised. ] Perhaps they couldn't wait to get a start on the honeymoon.

I can't help but be rather concerned for Violet. Does Luthir even have any idea of what marital duties consist of? Did someone draw him any diagrams? I'm half worried he'll think the idea is to spend the evening plaiting each other's hair.

You're incorrigible. Stop it. [ but the way she's grinning as she ducks her head, moving even closer to him, suggests she means the opposite. she runs her fingers lightly through the back of his hair, adding absently: ] Besides, I believe his knowledge of the subject has vastly expanded over this past year. [ she was right in the room next to his, ok, she knows. ]

[valdrin]

[ her fingers in his hair draw his attention back, and his eyes trace fondly across her features with a smile ]  Is that what they've been saying in the newsletter?  

[socialgraces]

[ she returns his look, obviously smitten with him and the moment ] If there were a newsletter, I'd be the one writing it - shameless gossip I am - so yes.

[valdrin]

Should I take that to mean Luthir's the type who kisses and tells?

[socialgraces]

He doesn't have to - I'm quite astute, as well. [ she grins, pulling herself closer to him, grinning as she teases: ] However, I've had enough discussion of Luthir's marriage bed. I fear we're inching toward it becoming weird.

[valdrin]

I know other beds we might talk about that might be more intriguing.

[socialgraces]

Mm. I couldn't agree more. [ she leans in with a smile to kiss him warmly. besides, everyone else out here is making out, too. ] I believe I may have to reconsider my choice of seductive undergarments, however. I've never known you to have such an aversion to garters.

[valdrin]

[ mmm, he'll happily accept that even if... that conversation took A TURN HE DOESNT WANT TO GO DOWN. distract, distract. ] Well, if I might throw out a suggestion, you could always forego the undergarments entirely.

[socialgraces]

I'd already taken that into consideration, but I had intended it to be a surprise. [ giving him a most provocative grin, she moves in to settle her cheek against his ] I never realized how intoxicating weddings could be. Or perhaps it's just being here with you that has me so affected.

[valdrin]

Maybe that's just all the flowers. Somewhat overwhelming, the scent.

[socialgraces]

I think it's quite beautiful. [ she rests her chin on his shoulder ] You know, you didn't have to come. [ she's... mostly teasing. she's just not sure how anyone can not find this romantic. ]

[valdrin]

What, and let you come here alone, while everyone's been infected with the love bug? Hardly.

[socialgraces]

[ she chuckles softly against his neck ] Everyone but you, it seems.

[valdrin]

Oh, I'm not so cynical as all that. I just don't need a wedding to stir up such sentiments.

[socialgraces]

[ she pulls back slightly, enough to smile at him fondly ] I suppose I should be grateful for that. It's not as if we're asked to attend many weddings to begin with.

So what, pray tell, does rouse such emotion from you?

[valdrin]

That dress of yours seems to be doing a fine job.

[socialgraces]

[ she obviously appreciates the compliment, but that's not really what she was referring to. she slides a hand down to rest against his chest, her eyes following it. ] I meant to imply emotions derived from here, rather. Other organs are much more easily stirred.

[valdrin]

That they are. [ he leans a little closer forward, like he forgot the point again. ] But you do a fine job at the other.

[socialgraces]

That's always nice to hear. [ she slides her hand back around his neck so he can't pull away ] But I do believe you're attempting to distract me from what I'd really like to hear.

[valdrin]

Perhaps I'm just enjoying drawing it out.

[socialgraces]

[ she smirks knowingly, kissing him again for good measure ] You most certainly have my undivided attention.

[valdrin]

I'm not certain how I managed to attract it in the first place, but I certainly don't intend to lose it.

[ look at that nat 20 will save, because now is not the time for fatalistic brooding. instead, she immerses herself in the moment, her eyes tracing his features with equal parts desire and tenderness. ] I believe it was the combination of your engaging wit, dashing good looks, and a great deal of determination.
