Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

We were just having a dance. He kissed me, I got into it. He wasn't trying to give me a hand job under the table, unlike some people I can recall.

I never claimed to be anything else. I usually don't apologize for shit like that, but I'm making an exception just this once.

You haven't apologized. [Oh hi. She turns and appears right in front of him, arms crossed over her chest.]

I'm about to. [MAYBE HE WANTED TO ACTUALLY SEE HER FIRST.] Sorry.

[She's quiet for a few moments, like she's debating how she wants to respond. Eventually, she takes a step closer, arms still wrapped around her. She doesn't like this feeling, doesn't like that part of her is willing to drop it (because when does she ever drop things really???). She wants to want to be mad and tell him to fuck off. She wants to want to set his clothes on fire while he's still in them. But she doesn't want that. She just wants him to look at her and talk to her and smile at her when she says something sarcastic.]

[But her tone is already starting to lift.]

[she's about to get her wish, because that makes him smile.] I know. I still haven't claimed to be otherwise.

So is he a better kisser than me?

I'm not sure, maybe you should kiss me and refresh my memory. [ /smooth motherfucker.]

[No but you need to stop, sir. Faye is not about to walk away from that challenge though. She may be trying really hard to be impressive, but... she's pretty impressive (dex 19 dat tongue tho).]

[mmm mmm yeah yeah, gurl.] Mm ... I just remembered that I don't kiss and tell. [but he will kiss her again for good measure.]

[There's a muffled sound of mock indignation because wow no she is the best, obviously. But she's way more interested in kissing him. Her arms slip around his neck and she contemplates pulling him back behind the tree to get busy. But she doesn't. Because she actually listens when Emma talks and isn't going to just barrel right into fucking all the time to keep his attention.]

I didn't miss my chance for a dance, did I?

[he just goes along with everything, tbh. living to please. and stop this teenage girl from being pissed at him.] Of course not. Do you want to go back to the floor, or dance out here?

No, we can head back in. [So she can show off? Or at least prove that she's not totally been snubbed.]

You're welcome. [he kisses her on the cheek.] it's no trouble. Everyone deserves to be bored out of their mind at a wedding at least once in their life.

[She laughs, blushing a little at the cheek kiss.]

It's not that bad. I just sort of realized that these are most of the people that were supposedly there during all that crazy doppelgänger shit last month. Pretty sure that blonde girl over there was kidnapped. Same with the guy over there. He's a vampire with a weird obsession with souls. I still don't get that.

Souls? Not unless he's concerned about the nutritional facts. He was trying to find books about them and bitching about how he wished it was just a movie he could watch.
