Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden. The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat. Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria. It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth. It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

[ he follows the line of their clasped hands with his eyes, and smile slightly before looking up at buffy ] Come. [ he gives her hand a gentle tug. ] She is right. This is a wedding, no?

I, uh—Okay. [ she breaks away from myri, turning her head back towards the witchwoman as she follows. ] Are you sure you'll be okay? [ alone ??? ]

I'm fine. [Myri says with a laugh before actually shooing her.] Go.

Who are we to tell her no? [ c'mon, girl ]

Well, people. With mouths, and free wills, and silly stuff like that, and I'm not saying I don't want to, but if you didn't want to, then it's just, we wouldn't—[ as she babbles, she follows him out to where the others are dancing and finally trails off into an; ] Okay then.

[ haha he just pauses to look at her like gurrrrl ] I did not come all this way to miss the chance to see you, carina.

Sure, you say that now, but your toes would have thanked you for it.

[ that's all the warning he gets via self-flagellation for her bad dancing ok. she ducks her head, disguising a smile as she shrugs her shoulders, squeezing his hand. ]

I know. I know; it's stupid. It's just felt rush-rush-rush since you got here, that I need a minute to slow down and bask. [ she shakes her head as she looks back up at him, glowing with a wide smile and doing just that. ]

Well... [ he returns her warm smile, wrapping one hand around her waist as he settles into a dancing position, humor dancing in his eyes. ] That may be because I arrived in the middle of the ceremony.

Remind me to get Burt back for that one.

[ she relaxes as she moves in closer to him, one hand reaching up to his shoulder. ]

'Cause I seem to remember a promise of visitation rights.

He claimed this was an emergency, and asked what was so important that I could not be there. I had not told him I was going to a wedding... [ he grimaces a bit, eyes skating over to spot vi ] Because I had a feeling he would have assisted on charging exorbitant sums of money to the bride and groom if he knew I meant to perform, even for friends. Not to mention that he would insist on bringing in some press, and since this was a gathering of Knights... [ his gaze sweeps back to her ] I thought it best I keep him as far away as possible, no? Isabella was very kind to take my place, so that I might come.

Talk about a good use of revolutionary superspy tag-team. [ she can't help smiling at that. look lying and hiding things from burt and having isabella run interference is absolutely the same skillset as assassinating world leaders for the good of shadowkind everywhere. ] Color me impressed.

Well, we do have to stay sharp somehow.

Well, you're welcome to use visiting us as an excuse to practice. In fact, I encourage it. Frequently. [ she tries to look serious as she says it, but by the end she dissolves into giggles. ]

I will do what I can, si? [ he chuckles warmly, and turns her about on the floor. she can see kat strugglebussing over there with fred, stepping on his feet probably by accident. raf notices and decides it's totally gossip hour. ] Who is he, with Kat?

[ she turns away from where she's smiling at kat's floundering to look back up at rafael, tilting her head as she considers if that's desire for gossip or interest in protecting kat. probably both. her smile widens to reach her eyes. ]

He's a friend. I think he's related to Wynn, a ways back.

I must admit, I'm a little surprised to see Kat... dancing. [ with a boy. the unspoken part is 'with a boy'. ]

Yeah, she's not big on the whole romance thing. [ she tilts her head, acknowledging. ] Or dancing. Or ... anything like that.

But he is an exception?

He wants to be.

[ and judging by her lopsided smile, buffy's rooting for him. ]

I see. [ he grins widely, as if the thought amuses him greatly. and then shifts his gaze to jack and gar with a nod. ] And... they are...?

Dragon's claws take an oath.

[ the smile drops a little. she leans her head against his chest, lips pouting with a little bit of lingering regret. ]

They never marry, or date, or anything. Jack was my mentor, and ... he's one of them.

... The way he is looking at her, perhaps someone must remind him of this.

[ she pulls her head back to fix him with a perplexed look like seriously ??? ]

I didn't realize you were the expert on yearning gazes.
