Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

I'm so proud. [Yes, he's proud. And Des is apparently the girl in this dance, because he cannot compete with that nat 20 with his... 30. SHUT UP THAT WAS A REALLY LOW ROLL FOR HIM. Charm is one hell of a talent.

Des actually can't stop smiling, which is noteworthy, because he so rarely honestly smiles at anything.] I'm glad you came out here tonight.

zarad nestles the side of his head against des' with a much warmer smile at the words, as they sway amid the crowd. his contentment is palpable, the hand on des' back drawing him in a little closer. ]

[He glances to the side, as if checking to see if anyone's watching before deciding he doesn't care and focuses his attention wholly on Zarad.] This was important. We don't get too many moments like this anymore.

[ he shifts his head enough that he can murmur appealingly close to des' ear ] As good a reason as any to make the most of them when we do.

[ he brushes his lips against des' cheek, eyes falling shut as he confesses with a sigh ] ... I missed you.

[Des chuckles and nuzzles against his neck in response to the murmuring. Yeah, now he... really doesn't care that everyone can see he's a marshmallow. He has a gun in his jacket and he can cuddle and shoot you at the same time. DON'T THINK HE CAN'T.]

I know. [He exhales miserably.] God, I know, baby. You've got your thing and I've got mine. That don't make it suck any less.

I can stay tonight. [ his eyes drag over to meet des', the invitation in his gaze more than obvious, even without the flirtatious dip in his tone. ] Make the most of a few more moments while we're at it.

Like I'm gonna say no to that. [He grins and there's a pause, whereon he just gets lost in his eyes again, and FINNICK COVER YOUR EYES.

Yeah, look it took them until now to start making out. Give them some credit here.]

[ zarad releases a satisfactory hum, chest buzzing against des' as he returns the slow, romantic kiss with an edge of eagerness that speaks of the time he's spent waiting to do this again. when he finally breaks the pda, it's to knock his forehead against des', a soft smile stirring on his features. ]

... Looking forward to it.

Maybe he just wants to cut in. [ zarad winks at spike, and it's... unclear whether he meant with des or with him, really. we just don't know. also hi. he slides a hand over des' shoulder with casual possessiveness from behind... or possibly to hold him back from socking spike.

Maybe I do. [Spike smirks at Des, challengingly, then looks back at Zarad.]

We didn't really meet properly before. I'm Spike.

Des looks from Zarad to Spike and just... rolls his eyes. Jesus Christ, Spike, YOU ARE THE LEAST SUBTLE.] Do you two want some alone time?

[ buffy pops up behind des, slipping her arm through his. she smiles up at him. ]

[Oh, that distracts him, as Buffy's presence usually does, but not for the same reasons.]

[Cause he definitely eavesdropped during the wedding and wtf was all that about.]

[He turns to give Zarad an all too predatory smirk.]

[ Des gives Spike a look that says, in no uncertain terms, that he better BE NICE or something. And then turns to Zarad. ]

Go easy on him.

[ And he'll just... go follow Buffy. ]

[ zarad just grins, and turns said grin on spike, and it almost matches his own. ] I don't know. You don't look like the type who likes it easy.

Never have been. But then again I don't reckon you'll be taking your boy's advice, now, will you?

It was more of a friendly suggestion. We're not big on telling each other what to do. [ he nods at the dance floor ] So was that a yes?

To dancing? [He had... not thought that was a serious offer. He considers it for a moment, then shrugs.]

Yeah, all right. Why not?

[ he smirks and closes in, keeping a more or less respectable distance between them even as he takes spike's hand and settles his other at his waist. he'll keep it simple, alright. he saved all his fancy ass nat 20 moves for his boyfriend. he still got like a 30-something. ] That tends to be my general philosophy.

[Spike's hands bump against his as he tries to go for the boy position and... ends up in the girl position. Fine, Zarad can lead. UM APPARENTLY SPIKE WAS SAVING HIS NAT 20 MOVES FOR ZARAD THOUGH BECAUSE WOW DID NOT EXPECT THAT ROLL. I guess he's really good at following no one expected that. Somewhere Dumage is jealous. Or proud cause of all the lessons. Maybe both.]

meanwhile, zarad is grinning widely at spike's ease in keeping up, and he seems to be greatly enjoying himself. in fact, he leans in with that rakish smile, voice dropping into an insinuative tone that's probably somewhat sexually confusing for spike. since he... rolled a 19 on his charm check, and his mods are absolutely un-fucking-godly. he makes francesca look awful at this. ]

A consummate scoundrel. Among many other titles. [ the teasing glint in his eye indicates that he knows that's... not what you were asking. and does not care. ]
