Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

[This is probably the same rosebush that Vi threatened Zarad in, lbr. Des takes the lead as soon as they move away to make sure they're somewhere private and then folds his arms over his chest.]

So what did Blade say exactly?

[slay]

Can we just pause the drama for a moment to acknowledge how absolutely creepifying it is "waking up" to that face?

[ she shudders and makes a 'yeugh' noise, shaking her head. ] No, thank you. [ she glances over her shoulder as they creep off to the edge of the ceremony, and then looks back up at him. ] He said our nightmare god isn't the one killing Vi. She's doing it to herself.

Okay. That's great. [He didn't tell Des that, but Des also just sat there telling him he was a moron for the entire dream.] He told me the plan wouldn't work the way we think- that her only hope was making the deal with... his god. Except the plan is Jade's. And she's not gonna give us something that would make things worse, whereas Blade is involved with a conspiracy that keeps trying to kill us.

[He shrugs.] He might be right, but is that a deal with the devil you really wanna make?

[slay]

Believe me, it hasn't escaped my notice exactly how many devils we already have deals with. [ her voice is sharp and her sharp look at des is pointed. ] What I do know is that we can believe him on this. He said he came to warn us because he cared for Jade, and, Des, I believe him.

Vi is dying because she doesn't think she can protect us. The deal this god's offering her? Is superpowers in exchange for just letting him watch more than his cable package is currently offering. We either need to accept that maybe seeing is harmless and get her to go for it, or find another way to make Vi believe she's strong enough as is so she stops killing herself with doubt.

[des fixes her with an odd look.]

He must have worked you over good, Blondie. [he turns away, swallowing.] Let Vi choose. It's her choice, not anyone else's.

[slay]

Yeah, we sat by the fire and cuddled. Can we please stay focused? [ goddamn. ] Vi's choice is to die, Des. We need to give her a good reason not to.

[nothingsodivine]

[curtly] Then we stick with Jade's plan, because if she dies now, she'll be in even worse shape. She needs us to help her, not them. If that don't work, then fine, but Jade didn't waste her breath telling me to send Vi to Blade. There was a reason she gave me that message. And if Vi can't make her own choice, then let Jade make the call. She knew what she was talking about.

There's a problem with that, too.

[Excuse her, but she'll just be busting in on your conversation. She might have seen you two walk off and has been...waiting to do this. During the ceremony was a bad time, after all. She glances between them.]

Yeah, he came to talk to me too.

[Can't you tell she's tired?]

If we're believing him... [A glance at Buffy.] ...which I do too, at least about the caring about Jade part, then your Manhattan plan? It's going to get someone else killed instead.

[slay]

What?!

[ buffy whips her head around on elena's approach—as happy as she is that elena has joined team "blade isn't being the bad guy (right this second)," the news is less happy. ]

Who?

I'm sure you won't be surprised when I tell you he would only tell me someone.

[Pissed does not even begin to cover it.]

He was very horror movie about it.

[I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS.]

Yeah, he said there'd be blood. But I was a little distracted by how great the timing on all this was. These people tortured Myri and Spike. Do we really want them doing anything to Violet?

[slay]

Dimitris tortured Spike and Myri. Dimitris couldn't care less about Jade or what she'd want. Blade does.

And last I checked, this is a god trying to cut a deal with Vi. There's no way he's under Dimitris' thumb. Keijen made it very clear that nobody has that kind of power.

Either way, it is Vi's decision. Not Jade's. Not ours. But I'm pretty damn sure if there's a chance someone's going to pay for this plan of Jade's with their life? Vi's going to say no.

And she should know that if she does take this god's deal? We're behind her one hundred percent. She shouldn't be dealing with this alone.

[des just looks deeply unhappy .]

So that's it. The last decent thing Jade ever did for us gets blown out the window because of that pasty sonuvabitch.

[slay]

Des, I know it's hard to think maybe ... maybe there was something she didn't know, or didn't tell you about this, but we need to consider all the information. We can't just cover our ears and pretend last night never happened.

I think we all need to ... sit down and clear the air. Everyone needs to know what's going on and what Vi's choices are. There have been enough secrets. She can make her decision, but we all need to know what's going on. What your plan is, what Vi's is, and what Blade told us.

And then we'll let her decide. It's her life.

[She glances back at the party, at how happy everyone is.]

But we shouldn't do it tonight.

Yeah. That's what I said.

[AND THEN BUFFY WAS ALL WELL VI WOULD RATHER DIE, so he chose the path of lesser sketch.]

She can make her choice, but Blade and his god ain't doing me any favors. He can take his bribes and shove 'em.

[slay]

[ buffy looks over at vi, frowning. she has no doubts about what vi's going to choose: if des' plan endangers someone else, vi's not going to take it. she's not going to take the nightmare god up on his offer.

she's going to die. ]

I just hope everyone's prepared for what choice she makes.

[ her gaze shifts to luthir. ]

It's Blade's plan or Jade's, so no one needs to be prepared for anything except the consequences of one or the other. [Des glowers.] There is no third option. She is not gonna sit down and not do shit.

[He wants to make this very clear.] I will haul her ass to New York by her hair before I let her do nothing.

[slay]

Hey, you know won't help? [ buffy snaps, winding on des. she keeps her shout hushed, but there's no question that she's pissed at how he's handling this. ] Railroading the girl who's already killing herself because of how powerless she feels. None of us want to lose her, but you need to get control of yourself.

I know that this is hard for you. I know why this is hard for you, Des, but this isn't about Jade. It's about Violet. [ she straightens up, reining it in. ] Jade is already gone. This isn't your second chance to save her.

[The way Buffy puts it is harsh, Elena knows that, but it's also...true.

And the brunette has her back all the way.]

If I were in Vi's position, I would want it to be my decision, too. We're not giving up on her, and we're not going to not try and give her her options.

[A beat.]

But we're not forcing her to do anything.

[wow buffy. Des looks mildly stunned by her words, all anger vanishing, as if he'd never really considered that might be how his intensity is coming off and he has to take a moment of self-reflection to examine it. He deflates visibly and runs a hand through his hair.]

Just don't forget who started this fight, because it sure as hell wasn't Violet.

[slay]

And we'll save her, and we'll win this fight. But we won't know the best way to do that until we talk to her, until we talk to everyone.

[ she puts her hands on her hips, turning back towards the party briefly, and then to des and elena again. ]

Tomorrow. We'll call everyone together for a team meeting.
