Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

[finnick, however, did bring cake. because they're sweet tooth soulmates. he knows what his bestie likes. he takes a seat next to vi, sliding the plate of cake in front of her.] You looked like you could use some.

It's good cake. [he smiles back at her.] How are you holding up? [wis 20 total, he knows something is up ok.]

For a second I forgot my life was just unending torture and pain and then I remembered. So it was a good couple of seconds. [ omnomnom cake is so delicious. ] Apparently I'm going to New York tomorrow. You're coming with. [ because she needs her bestie. ]

Hopefully not back to Des's apartment. [he's trying to keep the mood light, ok. by ... bringing back ptsd memories of cockroach city????]

Better not be. Bad enough my honeymoon is going to be a Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome battle to the death in my head, if we go back to Des' shithole I might burn it down on principle.

Cone of silence? [ cone of silence is a go. she would have taught him this, btw. ] Blade made a guest appearance in my nightmares last night. He said someone is going to die from this stupid plan. And before you try to tell me he was just manipulating me into not going through with the plan? He told me after I agreed to say yes to his creepy overlord, so there was nothing to gain from it since he'd already gotten what he wanted. [ you like how she just slid that in there like its nothing? yeah i said yes, but also other stuff. ]

I said I would say yes. [ she meant it as yes, so she doesn't even bother to pretend. ] I asked him to come back, after the wedding.

That's what Luthir said. He still wants to go through with the plan.

I think it's worth trying. If what he says is true, we'll experience a loss either way. And I believe that you're worth fighting for.

Whoever's life it is. If you're so willing to forfeit your life for the sake of someone else, is it really that hard to believe that you have people in your life willing to do the same for you? I would. I know Luthir would. Myri probably would, too, that's who she is.

And it's my choice to say you can't! If you died to save my life, I wouldn't want it. Don't you get it? I said yes. Yes. I don't want to die. I chose the option that wouldn't end with my death.
