[This is not Spike's optimal flight time. He would really prefer an evening flight. But he's taken a seat towards the back of the plane and shut all the windows tight, so he's all right for now.

He has a battered old book of some 19th century poetry. He sets his seat to recline as much as possible and starts reading.

He's figured out that he really likes poetry. He's not sure what that says about him, but at least it means he's got something to read on the plane.]

[Welp, Dumage is going to come pester him, after his little tiff with Buffy, because she overheard everything since they came back to the shady corner. Yeah, not so much privacy on an airplane, guys. She sliiides into the seat next to him, ostensibly leaning down to look at his book cover]

Drinks blood and has a softer side. I'll bet that drives the women wild. [She smirks, and gestures with her head up towards Buffy, raising an eyebrow at him with evident curiosity] Though apparently not always in the best way.

[bigbad]

[Spike groans, dropping his book and covering his face with his hands.] Not you too. [She doesn't seem to be particularly upset about it now, but here it comes any minute now. 'How dare you lie blah blah blah.' He'll never make any friends he gets to keep.]

[postergirl]

It isn't as if I were about to bite your head off. Pardon the phrase. [She leans a bit closer, adding in a hushed tone:] If you ask me, all that self-righteous indignation over something as simple as keeping a personal secret is entirely unattractive.

[bigbad]

[He relaxes a bit at that, letting his hands fall back down so he can look at her. He's not sure unattractive is the word he'd use, but... infuriating definitely fits.] It's not like it changes anything about me. And I'm bloody sure she hasn't told me everything either.

Or maybe she has and she's just jealous that she doesn't have anything interesting left up her sleeve.

[...He really doubts that. Buffy seems... far too fascinating to be that simple or petty. But he doesn't know how he feels about her, especially not now, so he just shrugs.] Or she just really doesn't like blokes with bad teeth.

Well then, she probably won't settle into England very well, now will she?

[bigbad]

[That gets a bit of a smile, but it's mostly a token effort. He appreciates what Dumage is trying to do, but... it doesn't really make him feel better.] No, I reckon she won't. [He turns towards Dumage, done with Buffy's life for the moment.] Rather not talk about her, if it's all the same. I thought we were friends. We're not. End of story.

Very well. Then let's talk about something else.

Ever been to Chicago before?

[postergirl]

Most of my traveling's been in Europe, actually. Not that I've never been on this side of the pond before, but never to Chicago, no.

[She glances at him out of the corner of her eye] And you?

[bigbad]

[He shrugs. Now that his vampire secret is out, he might as well go all the way.]

No clue.

[postergirl]

You didn't strike me as the Shadow world type. [She nods at the video games] I assume you've been here long enough to wrap your head around things, at least.

[bigbad]

It's been over a month now. [He shrugs a bit.] Might not be Shadow world, but it isn't here. That's about all I know.

[postergirl]

Might not be? Well, aren't you mysterious, then.

The land of elves and hairy footed halflings doesn't sound like home?

[bigbad]

[Spike scoffs, imagining it. Doesn't feel familiar.] Not even a bit.

[postergirl]

Maybe you're just an unfortunate amnesiac, then.

[bigbad]

Anything's possible, I suppose. But I don't think so.

[postergirl]

Then what do you think? You're from ... somewhere else? [She waves a hand]

[bigbad]

I suppose. That happens, right? The girl with the cat said she was from... [He vaguely waves a hand.] Somewhere.

[postergirl]

Did she now? [NEWS TO DUMAGE] I can't say I've ever heard of such a thing.

[bigbad]

Me neither. But then again... [He shrugs.] I haven't heard of much anything.

[postergirl]

I suppose you wouldn't.

I'm sure Gar would find this all very fascinating.

[bigbad]

[Spike looks a bit uncomfortable.]
