The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ in a miraculous case of cat reflexes and proof that they always land on their feet, lila trips on her very high heels (dex 6) but doesn't fall because she never falls and she manages to save all the food on her plate (reflex save 20 total). ] Oh fuck. [ a beat. ] Saved the fries.

Probably could have caught that too. [ such modesty there, lila, wow. she knows she has crazy reflexes. ] I put those Dr Scholl's in these heels. Never again. It's like walking on jello.

Now that would've earned you a round of applause. [Grin tugging at the corner of her mouth.] Want me to cover you so you can ditch 'em? Though if it were me, I'd probably just lose the shoes altogether.

Could you hold my plate? [ she holds it out, already reaching back to tug off one heel with her other hand. she's going to put those bitches right back on because she walks better in heels than she does without, but those gel insoles need to go. ]

Sure - [Amused as she takes it, head tilted to one side. This was exactly how Frankie did classy functions, sipping her beer as she waits for her to be done.]

Better? [Grin widening.]

Much. [ she chucks the insoles and wipes her gloved hands on her dress like nbd before she takes back her plate. ] Thanks. You'd think my feet would feel better with those, but nope. Go figure. [ what a waste of ten bucks. how annoying. luckily these heels, while totteringly tall, weren't that uncomfortable in the first place. ] Sorry, I'm Lila, hi.

Eh, walking in heels is an art in and of itself. Throw an extra layer into the mix and it's like trying to walk in stilettos after that seventh shot of tequila.

Frankie - [Offering a hand.] - Good to meetchya.

[ she makes such a face at tequila like ew no that is the devil's juice. she is having some serious flashbacks to her thirteenth birthday and it is not pretty. ugh tequila.

but! she shakes after that brief moment because she secretly has manners, shhhh. ] Ditto. [ they're just not great manners. ] So... Australia. Did you come looking for summer, because I'm not entirely sure England has one of those.

If I was chasing the endless Summer I would have stayed home. [Chuckling at that.] While England's version of Summer is two weeks of sun, our version of Winter is two weeks of rain. [She shudders.] I actually bought an umbrella. [Her tone suggesting that yes, this is the first time in her life she'd done so.]

I'm not even sure it's a full two weeks. More like eight days and then clouds and then another day mocking us. [ legit. ]

[That earns a snort of amusement.] Yep. Sounds about right. Kinda dreading Winter if this is what passes for warm weather, gotta say. Here's hoping the garage has central heating.
