The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Andrew is here because he got a new squire in this batch- the blonde one with the glasses. He's sure she's somewhere. Stopping off for a drink, he spots Alec and gives a small salute with his beer.]

Get used to these. [He gestures out at the rest of the ballroom.] Have one every month lately. [It used to be less frequent. Not that Andrew minds. He's actually enjoying the squiring parties these days, which is... weird as fuck for him, but he tries not to worry about it.]

[ He doesn't immediately give him his name, but he supposed in the interest in being friendly he probably should. ] Alec.

[ The last name Alec uses was assigned to him by Max back when he needed to blend into the humans. Apparently you couldn't exist as just Alec. He doesn't really consider it his though. ]

[The thing is? People come into this world all the time without a single clue about their last name. The Veil takes the weirdest shit, and as a native, Andrew has just come to accept that some people don't have a last name to give.]

Sort of had a whole big fucking ceremony for you. Be kind of fucked up if I didn't know who you were.

[Except half the time he skips these things and the other half, he normally is on his phone the whole time. He actually paid attention today.]

[ Unfortunately Alec always pays attention. Always alert to things around him. People. Even when he looks preoccupied with something else. Like perusing the crowd. ]

[ No, Alec. No it's not. ]

Blood in, blood out- or did no one fill you in? [He says with a scoff of a laugh.] Not really a gang, no. More like working for a company that actually gives a shit about you and a boss that is scary as hell but sort of the coolest person you could ever meet.
