The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

[Felicity turns to face him more properly, being polite and all, she smiles and nods.]

Hi! I'm Felicity and I'm really excited to work under you. [And the nat 20 wisdom check means she actually realizes what she said.] And that was not what I meant! I'm sorry. I'm definitely just nervous.

[Andrew doesn't really catch on right away what it is that she's said (wis 14), but once she starts to backpedal, it dawns on him.

And then he laughs. Really hard. Because that's exactly something that he would have done back when he was a squire. He'll be able to make words eventually.]

[Well, that's not what she was expecting. It's not entirely a bad reaction, but it is a tiny bit ... excessive. She'll just wait for him to stop. She's a patient person.]

Sorry. [He says, catching his breath as the laughter subsides.] It's just-- That's fucking perfect, you know? [No, she probably doesn't, Andrew. Because she doesn't know your goofy ass, yet.]

[Her glance is a curious one, because she definitely doesn't know.]

I do? [She frowns.] I don't think I do.

Right. [He stops laughing and finally catches his breath.] We're gonna get along great, that's all. So uh- how do you like it so far?

I've been here for about a week? I mean, in this world for a few years, but this castle thing not very long at all. I haven't formed opinions other than it's really big.

Well, yeah. But I mean you must have thought it over before you decided to take the plunge and do the secret organization knight... thing, yeah?

[Oh, secret organizations. Such a familiar term to her.]

Oh, I did. Think it over. A week isn't even long enough to test one of those ab-roller machines. They give you thirty days. [She's teasing or deflecting, sometimes it's hard to tell with her.]

Which is definitely enough time.

[He gives her a curious look, like he's not sure if he's meant to laugh or not.]

You're kind of weird.

[That's actually a compliment.]

[Her brow furrows, briefly, trying to sort out how badly she's screwing this up.]

And I should just stop talking.

No! No, no. It works. I mean- I'm pretty fuckin' weird too.

Well, that's something we have in common at least. [She's still nervous, though.]

So did you get some sort of file on me or something?

Not really. I think Wynn prefers we sort of figure it out on our own. A lot of people barely remember more than their names, so putting together a file can be sort of impossible.

Oh. Okay - so ... right.

[She takes a quick breath.]

I am pretty sure I remember everything - but I guess that's not really something I could know. Since I wouldn't remember... [She's rambling again.]

Sorry. Anyway - I was the IT girl for a large corporation and I also got tangled up into a teeny bit of vigilantism. Not me. I mean, a little hacking... but nothing - I mean, nothing big. I just tracked purchase orders... ran GPS... you know the usual 'Oh hey you're a vigilante, that must be nice, here is where that shipping container might be.' sort of thing.

You'll end up doing a lot more of that, honestly. That's sort of what I do for the most part. Actually going into the field? Not my favorite, but I'm getting better at it.

That's a relief. [She takes a breath.] So, when you're not listening to new squires ramble what do you do?

A bit of this and that. I like to build things, mostly surveillance related. And I'm a bit of a hacker, myself. On the side.

Oh? [She lights up at that mention.] Anything I might have heard of? I mean... you can pretend that I'm actually from the same world as you.

Most of the stuff I do is for missions. I can show you my set up in the Hoard lab, if you want? And my personal computer set up in my room. I can hook you up with a few monitors for yours if you want? Build you a system to handle whatever you need.

[Felicity smiles politely. Having been on this side of things for a few years and selling that necklace (thank you, Ray Palmer) she's nearly rebuilt all of the foundry here. Though - it's not... here in the castle, but she's brought some of her stuff with.]

Oh - that's not, I mean, I can build my own. I would just need access to whatever networks you use. [You know, FBI, CIA... oh wait - does not everyone just tap into those things?]

Sure, definitely. I can get you access to anything you need. [Uh they totally hack whatever want or need to. Your mentor can give you the hook up girl.]

That sounds great. [She doesn't know how polite or rule-breaking these knights are. They might have an honor code or something.]
