The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Felicity laughs, it's more amused than nervous - because it's funny to think that anyone could look at Oliver and not trust he'd be able to at least throw a punch. But - that's Oliver.]

Well, it'll be entertaining no matter what.

That's one word for it. [ she turns slightly to survey the rest of the room before reflexively rubbing her wrists. she continues looking away from felicity as she quietly asks a question she know she won't get a straight answer about if she'd asked oliver. ]

How is he?

[Felicity glances to Thea and smiles.]

He's better now that he knows you're safe, too.

[ that makes her roll her eyes a little, but her expression softens marginally. stupid brother. stupid family. stupid emotions. ]

Now we just have to not kill each other and I'm sure we'll be fine.

[fistpump]

I'm sure everything will be fine. [She hopes it will...]

I'll defer to your optimism on this one. [ but she does smile, even if it's just a little bit. ] I'm glad you're here too. Even if... we don't really know each other.

Yeah, it's kind of odd being the employee and showing up to things. [Like Walter's rescue... which she was really relieved over.]

There's nothing wrong with getting to know each other now, though.

Yeah. [ she'll just need to shake the "it specialist" mentality and think of felicity as a knight, but it shouldn't be hard since thea really doesn't care about crap like that. it's not like felicity was ever really her employee. ]

It's too bad you didn't come to all the parties we had before Dad and Oliver vanished. Then you'd be a pro at these things.

[ not that she's doing badly now or anything, which thea's expression seems to indicate without actually verbally backpedaling. ]

I really doubt I would've been on any guest list back then. I mean, I'm barely on guest lists now.

[Well, maybe a few more since Ray had hired her, but that was a long time ago.]

They're not that exciting once you've been to... [ she shrugs, she lost count a few years ago, honestly. it's easier to count the parties they had once oliver returned. ]

Oh, sure, I'm sure they get old fast. [Except, she's not sure, but maybe it'll get that way with how often these squire things are meant to happen.]

[ the only parties really worth going to are christmas parties, in thea's opinion -- and this is the opinion of a self-professed party girl. she just really loved christmas. (until she didn't.) ]

We can make up for all the ones we misses back home, at least.

[ sudden realization that there are no queens left in starling city.

In between all of the missions and things, I guess.

[A beat.] Which will be a new experience. [Bluff 18]

[ thea queen is the only person who can be lied to her entire life and never catch on so, ofc, she does not think for a second that felicity isn't being honest with her. so naive, so gullible. ]

At least the people here seem capable. [ she would give cora and alex mad props, tbh. or, well, just cora since she seems to be in a constant state of a little bit annoyed with alex. ] They know how to get shit done.

[ like rescuing people. a+ ]

That's good. I'd hate to be signed onto a team that only half-asses it. [She smirks.]
