The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

But they have other benefits that outweigh it. At least for me.

Dogs don't like me.

[She's just sayin'. And she figures if she can smell the feline on Kali (survival 20 total), Kali can pick up on the canine on her.]

That's because you're also part human and all humans love cats.

[Her eyebrows go up a bit at that.]

Yes, and those who think they're not just haven't met the right cat.

[ she nods sagely. it is known. ]

[She nods once before giving a small shrug. She's not entirely sure that's true because some people just aren't cat people, but she's not sure any amount of debate would actually convince Kali of that.]

But I'm still pretty in tune with my canine side. I think I should at least count for a half.

[ SQUINTS. ]

Maybe. [ idk she doesn't believe it son. ]

[She gives a bit of a shrug.]

I'm telling you, dogs and cats can totally be friends. They just have to get used to each other first.

Are we friends? [ ah such innocent curiosity. ]

[impetere]

[She pauses for a moment, because she's kind of bad at figuring out that threshold herself.]

I think we are?

[felidity]

[ she thinks about it for awhile and then smiles happily. ] Neat!

[impetere]

[Okay. Now that that's established.]

Did you not think we were?

[felidity]

I didn't know. I don't think I've ever had a friend before. [ sad trombones kali's entire life. ]

[Her face softens a bit at that because she knows that feeling - or at least she has an idea of what that feeling is as she forgot Boyd and Erica and the last friends she remembers having our hazy memories from before the fire.]

I haven't had many either.

[A beat.]

At least not before here.

[felidity]

[ she nods, understanding. ]

Now I have one. [ which prompts a little smile. ] Cats and dogs can get along.

[Cora grins in return.]
