Just as before, accessing the secret room where the Round Table is housed requires using the Knight's keycard to open the glass case beside the mural of the War in Heaven, located across from the ballroom entrance. Using the fire extinguisher as a lever to activate the "door" mechanism reveals the long torch-lit hall plastered in artwork depicting the Knight's history. The tenants of the Knighthood hang large and foreboding over the doors at the end of the hall, which stand open to reveal the brightly lit Round Table, and the majestic crystalline dragon statue presiding over it.

Come in, find a seat, meet your teammates if you haven't already.

Pray to the mission gods. The last mission I was on before Andres was in Oxford. It's like a bus ride from here. [She dogears her book and lays it on the table.] I'll pray for no spiders.

I pulled Rome for my first mission. I'd say anything is possible.

[Granted, she also got caught in a chemical explosion in Rome, so ... just because it's in a fabulous location doesn't necessarily mean it will be fun.]

[ Alisha wanders in, filing her nails, not looking up as she joins in the conversation. ]

Hey, I had a country club for mine, so I can't complain too much, except that there are like, no famous designers out of Andres.

[Yeah. Kate isn't really sure what Cordelia's expectations of missions are exactly, but she doesn't feel the need to burst her bubble quite yet (will save 19). So far Kate's had fire ghosts and giant magical spiders.

It doesn't exactly bode well for designer clothes.]

I guess we'll just have to see what happens.

[Phineas walks in a bit late, as usual, with his journal stuffed full of random notes in hand. His mood immediately changes from being embarrassed about running late, to happy and surprised as he looks around the room.]

Well... Hello ladies. I'm not the last one here, am I?

Not quite, Sir Dantalion. [ that would be wynn, as always :) he comes in a little bit behind phineas, making his way to the side of the table in front of his chamber doors ] Thank you all for coming.

[Kate turns switching from talk of locale to all business. She watches him as he makes his way around the table, before giving a bit of a nod.]

Of course. What's the case?

[Straight to business.]

Last April, an ally of the Knights named Mr. Broggon, a mage who runs a bookstore in Oxford, received a series of mysterious packages from an untraceable address using the acronym "PTC". These packages, as Sir Dalton can attest, contained monstrous creatures that proceeded to break free, likely in an attempt to kill Mr. Broggon. One contained eggs that swiftly hatched into large spiders, and another contained a deadly otyugh. We've been continuing to look into the matter ever since, including having the Hoard put out a tracer for other shipments sent with those initials. For awhile, nothing pinged under that name - until now. Another shipment has been recently sent out, to a business called The Spider's Web, a rather new popular nightspot located in Manchester. It appears to be a combination gourmet restaurant and private nightclub, that opened for business two months ago.

I'd like for you to follow up with this lead, in case these crates also pose a threat, and perhaps investigate the nightclub itself, in hopes we can figure out who might be behind all this.

[Dear Sir Dalton only blanches a little bit before clearing her throat.] I'm not gonna comment on the irony of the name of this nightclub in lieu of related incidents. Just... no.

[Spiders. Yay. Only not. However while Kate's been doing some arcane reading, it's clearly not enough to know what she's getting into with the latter half of the equation (arcane lore 8). She'll just raise her hand quietly before:]

[Kate's face takes on the countenance of "Questions I wish I didn't ask." Her lips press together for a moment, before nodding once in acknowledgement.]

[Only not. But moving on:]

Do we know why Mr. Broggon was a target in the first place? It might help narrow down why they're being sent to the club.

We've still no idea. Mr. Broggon attests to this day to having no idea, and from what I can gather, has no particular enemies.

[allaboutme]

Wait, wait, wait. We're not going to have fight a shit monster, are we?

I guess that's for us to figure out when we meet who owns this club. They could have slighted someone in the past or they could all just like the same football team and someone's taking World Cup rivalry way too far.

[To Cordy, she says:] I'm hoping and praying and praying even more than they don't deliver the same monsters twice.

The Spider's Web is run by a man named Keerianinor Ken'lyl, a drow from the Shadow World. There have been several unsubstantiated reports linking him to organized crime. His history goes back only six months or so, at which time he apparently entered the country for the first time. Official records suggest that he hails from Scotland, but they seem to be clearly forged.

Reservations for the Spider's Web restaurant side are booked four months out, so you'll have to get creative.

[Bambi cracks her knuckles over her head.] Leave the creativity to me. [a beat] Does anyone else speak Drow?

[Kate makes a face before shaking her head. She probably should pick up other languages, but for right now, she does most of her work in English.]

Unfortunately not.

[But she's filing that information about Ken'lyl for later.]

Wait, hang on, you're sending us to Manchester?

[ Because apparently through all of that that's what stuck out the most, and she really isn't that happy about it. ]

Indeed. I'm certain that Ken'lyl speaks English as well, having set up shop here.

[Phineas mimes weighing things in either hand;]

Horrible sand-choked tomb... Middle of a war zone... [But on the other hand...] "shit monster."

This could, potentially, be my most mentally-scarring mission yet. [He grins sarcastically, clearly excited.]

As the one who actually had to fight the disgusting thing, can I propose a ban on the word "shit monster" before we start the mission.

[Kate nods a bit in agreement.]

I'll second that.

[He glances up to Wynn, before ... ]

The organized crime contacts you mentioned - separate from the group I ran into in Rome?

[Just in case she should hang back and ... not put her face out there.]

As far as I know, they boast no connections to the DiRisio family.

Good.

[Less for her to worry about. She drums her fingers once against the table for a moment, trying to see if there's anything else she needs to know, but she figures she can discuss the previous mission with Bambi - that doesn't need to be handled right here right now.]

Is there anything else we should be worried about?

[She wants to go in with as much information as she can.]

[wynn]

Not that I can think of. I'm hoping we can come out of this with a solid lead about PTC, but our greatest priority is to make certain whatever is in that crate causes no harm to anyone.

Sir Beckett will function as your mission leader.

[Oh. Okay then. Sounds ... good.

She'll just nod and take that in, both excited and nervous at the same time. She'll hit Bambi up for the rest of the information on Oxford later.]
