Just as before, accessing the secret room where the Round Table is housed requires using the Knight's keycard to open the glass case beside the mural of the War in Heaven, located across from the ballroom entrance. Using the fire extinguisher as a lever to activate the "door" mechanism reveals the long torch-lit hall plastered in artwork depicting the Knight's history. The tenants of the Knighthood hang large and foreboding over the doors at the end of the hall, which stand open to reveal the brightly lit Round Table, and the majestic crystalline dragon statue presiding over it.

Come in, find a seat, meet your teammates if you haven't already. Anastacia is already here when you arrive.

[Riddick is the first to arrive, walking into the Round Table room quietly. He's mildly surprised to see Anastacia at the head of the table. He nods to her as he sits, crossing arms and ankles and leaning back in his chair.]

[If ever there was somebody who probably didn't look like she belongs in a mission briefing, it's Avaleen, the blonde so in awe of her surroundings that she doesn't immediately notice the other people in the room, backing into the table with a little meep of surprise that sees her turn around to face Anastacia and Riddick.

Dropping her voice to a low whisper as she fumbles to pull a seat out.]

Are we not permitted to speak?

[ anastacia gives them both a warm smile before leaning over to assure her: ] Of course we are, darling. Riddick's just the strong, silent type.

[That gets a rumbly "hmmmph" out of him as he uncrosses his arms to lean against the table. Still doesn't... say anything though lol.]

[ thea saunters in with a click of her heels. she looks up briefly from her texting to see who else in the room, but recognizing no one, just goes back to texting as she sits down. ]

[ anastacia waits for her to sit before leaning that way and saying: ] I don't think we've had the pleasure. I'm Anastacia.

Thea. [ she offers a desultory smile as she sets her phone to vibrate. ] Nice to meet you.

[ wynn enters from the same way they came in, sparing them all from getting blinded today, yw ] Good afternoon.

[Riddick straightens in his seat at Wynn's voice, re-crossing his arms. Still doesn't say anything tho. yep.]

[We can safely assume that while Ana introduces herself to Thea, Avaleen is just, smiling at Riddick. As you do. Like maybe if she smiles long enough he will too.

Your assignment will be taking you to Houston, Texas, where someone has been hunting innocent Shadowkind in the neighborhood serviced by the Church of Good Hearted Souls. Over the last few nights, four members of Sister Deborah's flock there have disappeared, and there is some indication that violence played a part in their disappearances. Both Sister Deborah and a talk-show host named Tommy Eldritch who sometimes does remote broadcasts from the neighborhood might have some useful information. He's been doing some programs about the disappearances.

Have there been similar disappearances in other neighborhoods that might be connected?

[Meanwhile Riddick is doing his best to ignore being stared at by the creepy blonde who just won't. look. away. Who just. keeps. smiling. at him. Finally, just as Wynn walks in he looks at Avaleen, I guess unable to stop himself from baring his teeth back at her in what could possibly be a smile but it's such a rare thing to be seen on his face that we can't really be sure?? But then he's all ears as Wynn gives them the deets of their mission, at least remembering that Texas is in the U.S. but where in the states is beyond him.]

At that show of teeth, her eyes widen just a little, the blonde unsure if he's trying to scare her off at first but she at least seems to realize that yes, that is in fact what passes for a smile in Riddick-Land (Wis 22) and practically glowing with happiness, she does stop staring at him like a right creeper.

As for the mission? Well she's just a little bit clueless as to how all this works so she'll stay silent for now, her attention shifting to whoever is speaking at the time.]

Nothing's that come to my attention. But you may wish to do some research to confirm as much. Sir O'Keefe will serve as mission leader in the field.

[ thea takes that to mean she can get her nosy flirt on when they arrive and nods simply. got it. ]
