February in Romania isn't very comfortable, so hopefully everyone bundled up for this little trip into the countryside.  The appearance of a mysterious bank of fog into which several locals have gone inexplicably missing upon entering, has caused Wynn to speculate that it might be connected to the mist that appears when the Veil brings people from other worlds.  Could this be the first instance of a door going the other way?  If so, here's hoping it's a round trip...

[ aurelius staggers back five feet in horror, unloading a shot at the creature, but he's disturbed by it eating nathan right in front of them and surely misses (atk 12) ]

[Paige whips around, gasping.] Nathan! [She holds up her harp pin and casts turn undead (turning check of 26 with 21 turning damage)]

I'm immortal, you cunt! [basically his battlecry at this point. although it sounds less enthused than usual because he's dazed. screaming he's immortal is just a reflex. like when the doctors kicks your knee with that thing. anyway, he uses his half-action to draw his shortsword.]

[ Watching everything unfold, he's trying to make a quick decision and just hope it actually helps a little. Brave, maybe, or just plain dumb. But he doesn't want anyone else to get hurt, so he calls out to the creature, taking a few steps forward... ]

[The wave of holy energy cascading from Paige is quite powerful, but the Blaspheme seems completely unaffected. Hopefully it will do some good in deterring any lesser undead crawling around the edges of the battlefield. The zombies of the town seem to be at least a minute away, moaning and wailing as they slowly plod around, so they've got some time yet.]

[Luckily (or unluckily) for Henry, Doru is intelligent enough to comprehend that taunt.] "DORU EAT! EAT THIS ONE!" [And he careens away from Nathan towards Henry with another erratic charge.]

[This provokes an Attack of Opportunity from Nathan, you can resolve that when we get back around to Nathan's turn.]

[Lunging at Henry, with an attack of 34, for 16 damage. Henry will be dazed. (No save, 1/2 action next turn). Henry will need to make a fortitude save vs DC22 to avoid becoming Sickened by the Necromantic Infection. (Sickened = –2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.)]

[Willow is so NOT OKAY with what's happening. But she's so not combat savvy and her spells are crap. But she might know something about the creature and what sort of weaknesses it might have??? (know arcane lore 25? maybe). While she's wracking her brain, she will also try to use that info she may remember to study the thing to use her "exploit weakness" talent in future rounds.]

NO! [HENRY THAT IS STUPID. Paige pulls her silver dagger out, now figuring she better save her spells for healing and rushes to Henry so she can yank him to safety like a tiny mama bear.]

[um of course nathan is going to take his attack of opportunity!! doru took a chunk out of his shoulder. that shit's personal. attack 20 total; 3 dmg if it hits.

and then he goes after it and takes his normal attack, striking with the short sword again and critting on 19 (and 26 total)! foooorrr 20 dmg with penetration. nathan is getting shit done tonight son.]

[Willow would know (And be able to freely share) that a Blaspheme's bite dazes and spreads disease - as they've all seen all too well. Sadly, the damn thing really doesn't have weaknesses to speak of. It's one mean bastard, with one desire: to spread it's infection. There is one more special ability it has, which it spins about to demonstrate to Nathan, in response to that massive blow he dealt.]

["BURY! BURY BURY BURY!" as it whirls around, and begins smashing Nathan over and over and over and over. Nathan needs to make a Reflex save DC 18. If he succeeds, he only takes 5 damage. If he fails - He takes 11 damage, and is also pounded bodily into a shallow grave, entombed and treated as Pinned, until he succeeds on two grapple checks to free himself.]

[ It was stupid and not very effective, but he'd been hoping to help in some way. With a fort save of 15, Henry falls back willingly when Paige grabs him. He still has his dagger out although at the moment, he just keeps it tucked at his side. He's still alert enough to be worried about Nathan and everyone else, but just waits and catches his breath a moment, his face a mask of concern. ]

[Willow rattles off the facts about the monster in a hurry, but she's a little too freaked out about it going after Nathan like that. She's going to cast magic missile to try to help out, but she's still such a baby so it's only one missile... 4 damage.]

[ aurelius takes another shot, afraid to stop firing at this point, but he only got a 16, because that shit is disturbing. 3 dmg if it happens to hit :( ]

[The Blaspheme will recklessly charge at Paige, intent on biting as many people as possible, in hopes of spreading it's horrible disease. This will provoke Attacks of Opportunity from both Henry & Nathan, so feel free to add those into your next tags.]

[Though it completely ignored her turning earlier, it seems angered by her healing Henry] CURSE YOUR GODS! [He lunges at her with an atk of 22, for 19 damage if that hits. Also (If it hits) she will be Dazed, and she needs to make a Fort save DC22 vs the disease.]

[ He's even more determined now, with the creature lunging at Paige, and he takes that attack of opportunity, lunging with his probably ineffective weapon (atk 10, 3 dmg if it hits) because this thing seems nearly impossible to defeat. D: ]

[Willow has no idea how to fight this thing. Nathan seems to be trying to blow it up, but it just keeps coming back. Knowing that she's basically useless with weapons and that all of her spells are going to be piddly, she just jumps up and waves her arms.]

[Paige barely makes that fort save (23), but she's definitely not looking too good right now. Knowing she's the only one who can heal anyone if things get really bad, she backs away from the fighting a bit.]

Don't let it touch you! [She cringes. This is so bad. So very bad. But it seems to dislike her healing, so she grits her teeth and casts cure serious wounds on Doru for 20 damage. And this time it really is damaging. X(]

[The creature roars, angrier than ever, when that holy mojo flows through him. It's oozing black sludge-like blood from it's massive collection of slashes and bullet wounds. Willow attempts to communicate, and it turns to her as Paige's magic burns through it;] Not... again... [Doru falls to his knees, the glimmer of un-life fading from his eyes. The body rapidly decomposes, even as it's falling, leaving little more than a skeleton and a pile of gore.]

[Suddenly all through the town, the cries of the dead tortured souls rises up to a maddening din. And then, it ends in an abrupt silence. The few shambling dead they might have seen heading their way, from the edges of the town or wherever, all instantly stop and fall to the earth, returned to death. Anyone infected also no longer feels sickened. The supernatural disease dies with Doru.]

[anyway. he then addresses aurelius.] I'm okay. Except for the whole chunk taken out of my shoulder! [he basically shoves his shoulder in aur's face.] Look at it!

Oh sweet Milil. [Paige gasps and raises her pin to her lips to kiss it, faltering a bit. She's pretty banged up, but she'll endure. Nothing a good night's sleep won't fix.] We actually did it...
