The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Scott's your best friend. [She says it as if she's trying to fill in some empty space for him, solve the puzzle.]

But if you don't remember things -- if you don't remember me then you can't help me with my shift. [Her hand slowly slides from his, but she doesn't step away from him, she just felt as if she shouldn't be doing that anymore.]

[He looks down at his hand as she pulls away, frowning as he tries to force the memories to come. They don't, of course, but he feels bad about it.]

Shift? So you're- what? Another werewolf?

[Malia frowns, trying to ensure that none of her hurt is visible. She's learned how not to appear weak, to fend off those that might attack - or provoke an attack.]

[Malia frowns, clearly affronted by his doubt.]

Yes, and I'm not a thing.

I thought we already had to start over. You don't remember me.

Right. [He feels like this conversation is running on a slight lag, like he's moving a few seconds faster than she's hearing him.] Basically. The veil kind of screw a lot of people over, from that I hear. But... I mean if you want to get to know me again, we can hang out.

[But, she knows you, Stiles. She KNOWS you. Why would she need to get to know you again???]

Sure. I mean- I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious. And you're a new squire so I figure I should get to know you anyway, so... Yeah. I'd like to get to know you.

Okay. I'm Malia Tate and I was a coyote for most of my life, but then Scott forced me to change and for a while I was really upset at him, because he had no right to take away what I was so used to. I was just supposed to go back to my house and to my father, but it was too difficult - so I went to Eichen House, because I felt like I had no real idea of how to be this normal girl and then I met you - again - and ... [Maybe this is too much all at once.]

You meant... in time, didn't you? I'm still trying to adjust.

Yeah I meant-- it's okay. This place can be kind of overwhelming. I almost had a panic attack during my party, so you're not doing so bad.

You're okay, though - right? [She's concerned for her tiny human. So tiny. So very human.]

Me? Yeah, I'm fine. Went to war and made it out alive and everything.

[animalistic]

Okay. [She nods.] That's good. You make it out alive back home, too.

Great! Glad to hear it. I mean if I didn't, that would suck.

[She knows not to mention the people that do die, though. At least not at this moment.]

Yes. Of course. [She nods and then lingers a bit, but then just walks away. Who knows why. She's just trying to make it simple.]
