Two bodies have been found in downtown London, likely the victims of attacks by some sort of Shadow creature. To prevent a panic, the police are investigating the matter as a dog attack and a potential robbery, while slipping the case under the table to Wynn and his Knights to look into further. Whatever did this is big, nasty, and seems to have taken down the victims without their even struggling. For now, the team is splitting up to look into the crime scenes more closely.

[ the so called 'dog attack' took place at the docks, where the middle-aged, white male, Percival Evans, worked. it's about seven by the time they get down there, and things have died down to a settled quiet for now. according to the police report, evans was killed at approximately 10pm. the area is still roped off, a quiet little stretch behind some of the boat houses, but there's no police in sight anymore. a few dock workers can be seen moving between buildings now and again. ]

[ 19 year old latino emilio sanchez was found dead in an alley, and it's to that alley that helen and dean head now. the alley itself is littered with trash, and the ground still stained where the murder had to have taken place, blocked off by yellow police tape. dean glances up at the large building beside them, nodding towards a sign on the door back here that declares it condemned by the city of london. graffiti cakes the walls of the building all around, and a knowledge (local) check of 15 is all that's required to place them, which dean nails. ] So what do they call the London versions of the Crips and the Bloods? Because I think we're smack in the middle of 'em.

[Helen isn't focused on the graffiti until Dean speaks up. Once she does glance at it, she raises both eyebrows in recognition (knowledge local 19).]

[Sam will just head on in, trying to at least move quietly to avoid attracting attention (move silently 16). Once he makes it to the actual location of the attack, he'll take a look around, trying to get an idea of what happened and see if he can find any clues, but chances are that'll be Will's forte (investigate 22 or search 19?).]

They might be able to tell us somethin'. [ maybe now he's trollin'. the thought of making helen interrogate gang members is hilarious ok.

with a 19 search check, dean's about matched with helen for checking out the site. there are still a few patches of fur on the ground, and a blood stain where the body must have been. as indicated, the blood doesn't trail in any direction, indicating that there was little to no struggle - and that the creature didn't try to drag the person away either. ]

Hmm... [She muses as she notices the bloodtrail... or lack of one, really.] Anything from your past experiences with Shadow creatures tell you more about just what we're dealing with? Or where it went?

[ he shakes his head, checking the ground as he courses up the alley. ] Thing didn't really leave any tracks. That's the problem with monsters in the city. This much foot traffic, it's hard to cover up. [ he nods towards the condemned building beside them ] Think it's worth takin' a look-see?

[ all sam manages to find besides a few clumps of fur are some claw marks set in the wood of the docks, but none that leave a distinctive trail out of there. ]

[meanwhile, will is in his own creepy little trying to imagine the killer world, not talking to anyone and in a trance-like state while he stares at random shit. (investigate 33)]

[She gives a single nod of agreement before heading towards the nearest entry point. Condemned can mean boarded up, so not sure if there's easy access to the interior.]

[ there's a back door here, and it does open when dean elbows it hard once. he opens it slowly, reaching down to pull the gun from his holster. ] C'mon.

[With the door open, Helen also reaches for her gun, holding it low but at the ready. She's only a step behind him, trying to take a look around the space but not doing too great (spot 14).]

[ the most interesting thing that will would discover is that there are no signs that the victim was running away from the creature. at any point. his steps seem to have brought him to the dock, where he stopped, and remained in place until he was brutally mauled. it seems strange that he wouldn't have ran away if he had spotted the creature, so whatever caused the lack of struggle seems to have happened before that occurred. ]

Considering there's no trail, are we sure that the fur and the markings aren't being planted?

[He looks mildly frustrated.]

Either that or maybe the thing can fly, too.

Maybe. [will frowns, unsure.] There isn't anything to indicate the victim running away. He came to the dock, stopped in his tracks, and then stayed in place for the whole mauling. Whatever the creature does to subdue its prey must not require physical contact. If he had seen it, you would think there would be signs of some kind of struggle beforehand.

[ whatever the building used to be, there's not much left to it. it seems to have been gutted by a fire at some point in time, and overrun with plants and graffiti ever since.

dean steps in the middle of the room, running a distracted glance over the artwork, when abruptly there's the sound of a gun cocking from the steps above them.

a hispanic teenager who doesn't look more than sixteen stares down at them, aiming a gun at helen. his eyes are wide, and he's struggling hard to grow a mustache and failing at it.

"Don't move!" he shouts.

dean slowly turns his head to give helen an exasperated look, but lowers his gun to his side and lifts the other hand to show that he's not about to shoot. ] We're just here to talk.

[Glancing up at the young man, Helen reacts similarly to Dean, letting her right arm drop to her side while she left lifts to try to seem less threatening.]

That's right. We just have a few questions about what's happened here. Why don't you come down here and we can just have a quick chat?

[ the kid hesitates a second but looks down at helen's earnest expression and seems to think twice about it, lowering the gun slowly.

"... About Emilio?" he asks, and he looks suddenly miserable at the subject, not to mention nervous. ]

You knew him, then?

[ he nods, scrubbing a hand over his face.

"He was like my brother, man." ]

We're looking to find out as much as we can about what happened to him. Were you with him that night?

[ he shakes his head. "No, I was with my crew. I'm the one who found him." ]

And he doesn't run with that crew? You know which one he does run with? [ "None of them. Nobody around here, at least." ]

Do you know of anyone who might have wanted to hurt him?

[ please to roll a gather info check because dean's was abysmal. "I-- I dunno. Around here, plenty of guys want to hurt you for looking at them the wrong way, you know?" ]

Unless it swooped down on top of him before he ever saw it. Even then, there should have been some sign of struggle, unless it somehow got into it's head before he even ever came here, but that kind of sounds like a stretch.
