The streets of Bern swell with the myriad sights and scents of its industry: the wood and polish of carpenters' shops, tantalizing aromas wafting from dozens of bakeries, and the heavy oil scent of artists.  Meanwhile, hundreds of rich colors give the district an appearance of a holiday festival.  The townhouse of Asheron Coyl comes into view, perched on a small rise that overlooks the street.  A low fence covered in vines abuts the street.  A gate opens onto a flagstone path that wends past frozen flower beds, fountains, and sculpted shrubs to the front doors.  A bell hangs next to the gate, reading "Please ring bell" in several languages.  With an 11 disguise check, Nyna didn't really bother to dress all fancy, opting instead for her paladin armor, sorry guys.   She can be the sexy bodyguard.

[ belfor snorts, stroking his mustache.

"Because of my profession, naturally. I'm an art critic, a well-respected one. As was Asheron, actually. Is he really... did something really kill the old boy?" ] I'm afraid so. [ when nyna says that no one has anything to burn it with, she just asks belfor, who does have a lighter. holding the flame to the edge of the cloth, they stand back as it bursts into flame. a listen check of 15+ is enough to hear a strange, unearthly screech as it burns, so faint that it almost sounds like it's in their imagination. ]

[Felicity definitely hears that (listen 29), and her eyes dart to the painting for a moment, almost as though she's expecting flammable killer octopi to make their way out of the painting to exact their revenge, but still questions Belfor all the same.]

There's a painting in the hallway that we passed on the way out - you, Asheron and a gray-haired woman. Who is she? She may be another target.

[Cara hears it as well ( listen 19 ) and it makes her feel uneasy. She's never been fond of magic and this definitely seems to fall into that realm.]

[ "Eleazonna Gertwright. Another well-known critic in the business. You really think she might--"

nyna looks at the others with a frown, and then asks him: ] Do you know where she lives?

[ he nods. "14 Burgandy Wine Terrace." ]

[Felicity nods but she also remembers there being two wrapped packages in that limo.]

Is there anyone else? Any other art critics in the area that may be in trouble? We have reason to believe there were two paintings left.

Then let's hope we can catch this guy at Gertwright's. Come on. We don't have a lot of time to waste.
