Metropolis is a bustling city even during these cold winter months, but they have no trouble finding the Luthorcorp building - because it literally towers over the skyline, dwarfing the Daily Planet nearby. It's still daytime when they arrive, working hours, and employees in well tailored suits hustle in and out towards elevator banks, past the front desk.

[ lois notices everything (spot 23) but doesn't even know who they are so she has some more immediate problems tbh. that does, however, allow her to also notice oliver trailing them. she doesn't stare or give away his position, just raises her voice to make it all the easier for him to overhear. ] Is this the part where you break my kneecaps?

[Oliver doesn't notice the others on the security camera because his spot was completely useless. He does pick up what Lois is throwing down though, taking note of the way her voice grows slightly louder to make it that much easier for him to hear (sense motive 19).

He really doesn't want to cause a scene here, with Felicity on her own back there. It's getting hard to ignore the obvious shadiness going on re: the way the lab's security is handling the current situation though. It's a good thing he is a cold hearted snake for now, but there is only so much he can ignore. :/]

[telepathy]

[ Guard A who I'm now naming Ben for a.) convenience, b.) when an inevitable fight breaks out because I know how violent everyone in this game is, gives a fully belly laugh at that. He slaps Guard B, who I'm choosing to name Sally, in the arm. ]

Listen to that. [ He quips, grinning. ] She's worried about her kneecaps.

[ Sally advances on Lois, built about as delicately as Gwendoline Christie, and gives her a shove back towards a chair at the security station. ]

Sit down. [ She moves one hand to steady at her gun. The gun that she has. On her hip. The gun that a private security officer is presently wearing on her hip in the way that private security officers are not authorized to do. That gun. ] You're here until Dr. Janik gets done with the others. Then, he'll decide where we send you.

The "others"? Just how many holes in security do you have around here? Because I work alone, hot shot.

[Oliver is pretty interested in hearing the answer to that question, too. I think he realizes by now what Ms. Lane here is doing, if her raised tone before was any indication. Besides, if she was being made to sit and face the guards (who have their backs turned to him, I am guessing, since they asses still don't know he's there--great guarding guys), she has obviously seen Oliver by this point and is merely baiting them to reveal something incriminating. Spill the deets, bitches.]

[telepathy]

[ Bad news: Oliver isn't the only one who can figure out what Lois is doing. Sally here got a nat 20 wisdom check, so she straightens up immediately. ]

She's not alone. [ Turning, she grabs Ben by the vest. ] Find whoever she was with and bring 'em back here. NOW!

[ And Ben turns to exit the security office on that order ... ]

[ i don't think i remember them putting restraints on her, but either way, she's not going to waste the opportunity of their split focus, whether they've got guns or not. instead, she's going to throw herself at the woman and try to grab said gun from out of its holster while she's distracted. but she technically gets an attack of opportunity...??? so i will let you make a call on that. her sloppy grab was only an 11 for her opposed attack roll tho

[ yeah, nope. Sally will take that attack of opportunity and turn to catch Lois in the face with a right cross that actually really smarts (atk 25, nonlethal dmg 4). Now she'll set about trying to wrestle Lois into handcuffs—which provokes an attack of opportunity also (opposed grapple 25). ]

[Meanwhile Oliver is over here in the doorway ready to greet Ben with a fist to the face as turns around (attack 22, for 20 crit, non-lethal damage).

Props to Lois because he was legit going to try and signal for her to go for Sally but she beat him to the punch. Literally.]

[ lois' attempt at elbowing the woman barely misses and she finds the cuffs slapped on her wrists as she bombs that opposed grapple too.

which doesn't stop her from attempting to headbutt the woman. (atk 23, dmg 3 lmao) ]

[ woW BITCH. Lois' headbutt connects solidly with Sally's forehead just as Oliver's fist puts a serious dent in Ben's face, staggering him. He rallies quickly, though, taking his own swing at Oliver (atk 23, nonlethal dmg 3). ]

What the hell are you doing here?!

[ Meanwhile, Sally spends a turn securing the cuffed reporter to a chair (is that another opposed grapple I'm gonna say it is and say it's a 19 here). ]

[Oliver doesn't appear too affected by Ben's punch and instead just keeps coming at him, cracking another fist against the security guard's jaw (attack 23, damage 9 - non-lethal).

He may be holding back from killing yo ass, Benny boy, but that face is sure gonna need some work after all is said and done just saying. Apparently interns have a lot to be angry about.]

Looking for the break room. [He's not even trying to make a dumb pun about breaking someone's face. Why he didn't just ask tho is anyone's guess.]

[ well her attack of opportunity was a

nat 20 :'D, which is 16 non-lethal dmg, as she...idk, knees her in the gut or something. and then brings her handcuffed hands down on the back of her head (atk 16, 6 non-lethal dmg if that somehow hits) ]

[ that exactly hit! Sally doubles back from the blow, but pulls her nightstick out to lay into Lois with one powerful hit a moment later (atk 17, dmg 8 MAX DAMAGE OW). She's given up restraining her, I guess.

Anyway, Ben and Sally look equally bruised at this point, which isn't so bad but they definitely don't want this to continue. So Ben cuts another right hook against Ollie (atk 23, nonlethal dmg 6). ]

[Throwing more punches isn't the way to get someone to stop hitting you tho, for the record. Unless you knock them out. Which Ben did not do.

Oliver is actually a little surprised when it turns out this guy can throw a decent punch, for what it's worth. Fun fact: It ain't worth much, sorry.

Unfortunately for Ben, it doesn't stop Olliver from backhanding him like a little bitch immediately afterward (attack 21, damage 6 - non-lethal).]

[ the 17 just barely connects, but if you think that's gonna stop lois, you don't know lois. she tries to kick her, but it's hard to get her balance under her with her hands tied together (atk 11) ]

[ Sally side-steps the kick and makes another attempt to secure Lois to the chair (grapple 23).

Ben, meanwhile, tries to fucking lay into Oliver, shouting, ] Stand down! [ Unfortunately he's a li'l bitch and only rolled a 12. ]

[Nah, son. Oliver is able to evade Ben's attempted attack easily, and uses the opportunity to strike him dead in the face again (attack 22, non-lethal damage 12).

But he's also done playing with this bitch so he follows up with another immediately afterward, like how 'bout you lie down instead (attack 25, non-lethal damage 7)?]

[ interjecting to say Ben goes down down in an earlier round and sugar we're going down swinging.

[ lois sees that one coming, and this time is prepared to bring her cuffed hands right down on sally's head (atk 25, dmg 7), following it up with another kick, this one solid (atk 24, dmg 3). ]

[ THAT WAS JUST UNCALLED FOR. Sally stumbles, turns back to notice Ben falling, and draws her gun. ]

That's it, stand down! Now! [ But she doesn't have quick draw :( ]

[Oliver has stared down his fair share of gun barrels ok it doesn't even faze him as evidence by how he rushes to close the small distance between them (idk if he has to move more than five feet so I am just going to assume yes) and proceeds to kick out toward any opening on Sally-chan's mid-section that he can find while she draws her weapon (all while silently praying to Jesus that she doesn't fire one off into his balls or something - attack 26 non-lethal damage 10).

[ And Sally too goes down, unconscious, gun clattering across the floor as she drops. ]

[It's about frggen time. Olver glances over at Lois, maybe slightly impressed, but then rips off his ID badge and drops it to the floor before crouching down beside Sally so that he can look for keys to the cuffs she slapped on Lois' wrists (search?? 17).]
