Metropolis is a bustling city even during these cold winter months, but they have no trouble finding the Luthorcorp building - because it literally towers over the skyline, dwarfing the Daily Planet nearby. It's still daytime when they arrive, working hours, and employees in well tailored suits hustle in and out towards elevator banks, past the front desk.

[ The editor reaches out, a snap movement, to grab Lois' wrist and stop her from retrieving the notebook from her desk. Something in her eyes gives the impression that, regardless of who owns the paper, she got into this business for a reason, and she still can't resist the allure of a good story. She tries to hold herself back, failingly, and instead asks, "What's your name?" ]

Lois Lane.

You might want to remember that one, because you're going to be seeing it underneath some scathing headlines in the not-so-distant future. It's up to you what paper's name is going to be sitting there on top of it.

[ She seems ready to — however reluctantly — decline, unease coloring her expression. Putting the blast on Luthor could put the editor of the Daily Planet out of a job. But it's not much of a job if she's not actually reporting the news. She nods, straightening.

"We'll take it." She points to Lois with the story. "Freelance rates. You're not on the payroll yet. Hell, when Luthor catches wind of this, you might not even make it on the payroll at all. He'll eat all of us alive." ]

A little bit of public exposure might dull those fangs of his for a little while, at least. Trust me - you're not going to regret this.

[ "See that I don't." She hands the article over to Lois. "Take it to a copy editor." Then she points to Emma and Bo. "And remove your friends. There's only room on a by-line for one name." ]

Who them? They're just my interns. [ she waves a hand at them as dismissively as possible (bluff 27) ] Learning from the master, you know how it is. [ lois, stop while you're ahead. anyway, she takes the article back and grins ] Come on, padawans.

[She grins happily, pleased with this turn of events.]

[ The editor squints, but says nothing. Emma scoffs that trust fund scoff and turns to follow Lois out despite her total disgust with Bo's compliance.
