The route to the Moore residence is a secluded, gavel-topped county road that meanders through fields and farmland.  The roiling stormclouds and lack of city lights make the countryside seem unusually dark and forbidding.  A battered mailbox on the right side of the road indicates the Moore farm, and a pothole-filled drive leads up to the farmhouse.  On the right side of the long driveway, nestled among the snow, lies what appears to be a small family graveyard.

Beside the dilapidated house, stands a large German Shepard tethered on a leash, barking furiously as they pull up.  An older man stands on the porch looking highly displeased.  The man says something to the dog, but the barking continues unabated.

"You can just turn right around and head back the way you came," he yells from the porch.

[Andrew didn't intend to leave Han out there to die. He sort of figured Klaus would help (which kind of proves that he doesn't know Klaus). Raising his gun again, he attempts this whole 'be a useful member of the team in combat'... thing. Firing off a shot, it's a vast improvement from his previous attempts (attack 15 and if that hits, 10 damage).]

zero takes a step past the squishy zombie guts, glancing down at the woman. ] ... Guessing this must have been Farmer Brown's wife.

[Yeah that was really gross, but it's dead now. Han doesn't put away his blaster, though. Nope, that's not happening.]

And now she's zombie food. Let's get moving before the same thing happens to the ewok.

[Hold pls, Klaus moves toward the sink to wash his hands because really. Andrew's shirt only cleaned off so much.

[ zero steps back out of the kitchen, moving towards the only other door down here on the ground floor, beside the bathroom one. he listens at it for a second, and then seems to find it clear, pulling it open to reveal an office.

the desk that dominates this small, cramped room is far too big for the space. scattered haphazardly across the desktop are numerous papers, forms, and pieces of mail. more papers are stacked in piles on the floor. it's clear from the mess that moore had issues with paperwork. ]

[Andrew heads into the office and starts to poke at papers here and there, looking for anything... useful, basically (research 32).]

[ andrew uncovers a set of documents from armitage industries, detailing an offer to purchase the moore farm. the map included with the offer reveals that the company owns the property to the north, abutting the farm. armitage ind. is offering a decent (but not outrageous) sum for the farm. the deadline for a reply is tomorrow.

he also finds pamphlets and literature for a local militia group that is notorious for its antigovernment rhetoric and violent demonstrations.

lastly, he finds a manifest detailing the sale of a large quantity of fertilizer and other agricultural chemicals to oscar moore. anyone can make a separate knowledge (physical sciences) or demolitions check to draw a conclusion about those. ] All this seems to fit with what we already found.

[Klaus doesn't ... care enough to even try to extrapolate information from anything.

He just finishes washing his hands and wiping them gently on a little towel like this kitchen hasn't gone to hell already before making his way into the office where the others are?

He is here basically, and just sort of looking around wondering how anyone could have ever lived here.]

[Somehow Han's demolitions check of 7 probably won't do it. He's not used to your Earth chemicals I guess.]

And doesn't really scream "guy's gonna turn into a zombie."

Holy shit. This fucker was making a bomb. [He looks up at Zero.] To blow up the zombies?

Well, that's... unconventional, but I guess they can get blown up good as anybody.

We should check upstairs. In case there's anybody left alive. Or unalive, as the case might be.

Good, here I was hoping we'd get more undead guys. [But Han's okay taking point, gun held in front of him as he listens and watches for... idk not much at all apparently (spot 9 listen crit fail).]

And what of our furry friend?

[Rocket's still out there, y'all. Not that Klaus is actually ... concerned. But he doesn't want to be where the zombies are if they are going to make that much of a mess every time he slams his fists into one.]

Why don't you and I head out and try to find him?

I thought you'd never ask.

[Bye, bitches. Klaus ain't even waiting around for whatever is upstairs to come down and greet them have fun.]

[ as han and andrew approach the stairs, they would both notice a trail of slime leading up them. ]

Well, that's promising. [And yet, here Han is, still following it. He misses the day when he wouldn't do this without something in it for him. Those were good days. That actually lived through.]

[ upstairs are three doors - what look like two bedrooms, one on either side of the stairs, and a bathroom door straight ahead ]

[JUST KIDDING. Andrew instead goes upstairs and doesn't make a snide comment because I'm too slow. Instead he just hangs back and lets Hans go first.]

What if we just don't go in any of them? I mean that's an option...

[Han glances back at Andrew and raises an eyebrow.] You did come this far.

[He could have left with the wimp squad he wanted to.] Keep your gun trained on the other doors. Just in case. [And because he'd rather Andrew starts shooting in a direction that isn't Han if he gets spooked. He starts with the first door--the one to the left of the stairs, holding his blaster up in his right hand as he tries the knob.]

[ two horrible, bloated, humanoids with oozing flesh are pawing something on the far side of what looks like the master bedroom. \o/ ]

Look at that, got zombies on the first try. I've always been lucky like that. [He punctuates his words by shooting off a blast of laser light at one of the zombies (atk 16, dmg 15 if it hits).]

[ that hits! goo goes flying out of the thing but it's across the room, luckily. but not for long. they both shamble towards han, and try to slam him (atk 7, atk 16) but both miss boooo ]

[Andrew lets out a weird yelping sound, but manages to get his gun out!! He fires his gun at the one Han hit (attack 15, damage 8). And then I remember he has heroic surge so he does it again!! (attack 20, damage 9).]

[Han takes a few steps back because yuck, zombies, he doesn't want to get their goo on him, then shoots another blast at the second zombie (atk 26, dmg 10).]
