[  The Knights' mission to stop the signal and prevent Draken's cult from spreading whatever subliminal message  was lurking beneath Keijen Blade's performance was a success.  It didn't come without its bumps in the road, however:  Alexander Anderson showed up, and the Knights ran afoul of the Mind Master.    Buffy nearly died fighting Anderson, but in the end, he was defeated, beheaded, and hopefully put to death forever.   Finnick, though, found himself thrust into a mental illusion that convinced him he might still be in the Hunger Games, and left him uncertain about whether any of his life here was real.  

Another surprise came in the form of an announcement by Nadia Reichenov, an artist working with Crombe and company, that she was changing her band name and taking things in a 'new direction'.   This direction was perhaps revealed when after her performance, she approached the Knights in Rafael's dressing room - and handed them the necklace that connects her to the Nightmare God Malaak'a, saying she was willing to tell them everything.  ]

Yeah, our boss thinks you could do with the extra protection as well.

[Spike turns to Myri, squeezing her shoulder and hunching down a little to get to her level.] I'm not going away forever, love. And before I go I'll show you how Skype works. We can still talk as much as you'd like.

[His heart wrenches a little, though. He hates that he's leaving her as well. But this is important. She knows it's important. Someone needs to protect Nadia, and he's the best one for the job.]

[witchwoman]

[She looks away, down towards the ground over the shoulder he's not touching and nods. Still, she doesn't say anything. She knows that it's selfish to be upset about this, which is why she's not actually protesting. Taking a shaky breath, she steps away from Spike and towards Nadia, reaching for her hand to take with both of hers.]

He'll take care of you.

[And with nothing more to say and feeling as though she can barely breathe, she turns and leaves, heading out for the balcony of the room. She just needs to be alone for a minute.]

[ nadia watches her go for a moment, waiting until she's out of sight before she looks to spike ] Do you think she'll be alright some day?

[bigbad]

Eventually. She's tougher than she gives herself credit for. But him? [He glances towards the bathroom.] Not sure about him.

[coldheritage]

You all had to come into this knowing there was likely to be a cost. I'm not foolish enough to stand up to them and expect not to pay for it somehow.

They're not like you all. They won't play fair.

[bigbad]

We don't all play fair. [Thanks, Dumage.] And we knew there'd be a price. Doesn't mean we have to like it. And it doesn't mean we won't pay them back when the time comes.

I'm not saying you have to like it. I'm saying you all signed onto this knowing it would happen. Including him.

They're gonna hope something like this will paralyze you. Leave you walking on eggshells, or leave you so angry that you do something stupid.

[bigbad]

[Spike scoffs.] Shows how well they know us. We don't have to be angry to do something stupid. [He's definitely making her more confident in them, isn't he? Admit it.]

But they're still wrong. We're not gonna bloody pull back or rush on ahead without thinking. We're just gonna get better.
