[  The Knights' mission to stop the signal and prevent Draken's cult from spreading whatever subliminal message  was lurking beneath Keijen Blade's performance was a success.  It didn't come without its bumps in the road, however:  Alexander Anderson showed up, and the Knights ran afoul of the Mind Master.    Buffy nearly died fighting Anderson, but in the end, he was defeated, beheaded, and hopefully put to death forever.   Finnick, though, found himself thrust into a mental illusion that convinced him he might still be in the Hunger Games, and left him uncertain about whether any of his life here was real.  

Another surprise came in the form of an announcement by Nadia Reichenov, an artist working with Crombe and company, that she was changing her band name and taking things in a 'new direction'.   This direction was perhaps revealed when after her performance, she approached the Knights in Rafael's dressing room - and handed them the necklace that connects her to the Nightmare God Malaak'a, saying she was willing to tell them everything.  ]

I'm just glad you weren't hurt you as well. [The idea of losing Finnick and Elena in one move? Too much for her heart to bear.]

We'll... do everything we can for him. There are so many knights at Wynn's disposal. I'm sure he'll think of something... someone to help.

[Dear god, she hopes.]

[doubletake]

[She nods slightly, knowing that they will do everything they can, look for anything that might help. In the moment, that doesn't feel like enough, though.]

I hate her so much.

[The words come out deathly quiet, as if speaking them any louder will cause her to explode.]

[witchwoman]

[Myri can only glance away, knowing that her own hatred for the woman is likely rivaling Elena's but trying not to dwell on it.]

I don't think you're alone in that.

[doubletake]

Yeah, I know.

[Myri has every right to her anger, too.]

Sorry.

[witchwoman]

There's nothing for you to apologize for, Elena. This isn't anyone's fault. No one here, anyway. We just... I just want to be able to find him. He's in there somewhere. I know he is.

[doubletake]

He is. He's just lost.

[In a forest full of blood and screaming. She shudders remembering it.]

[witchwoman]

[She looks to Elena, brow creasing slightly in confusion.]

What is it?

[Shes getting that feeling like there's something else there.]

[doubletake]

[She sits up a little, drags her hand through her hair as she recalls the memory.]

I peeked into Finnick's head right after it happened. I thought maybe if I could hear his thoughts, I could help him or figure out how to stop it.

[witchwoman]

[She's almost afraid to ask]

...What happened?

[doubletake]

I didn't get to see much, but...

[She lets out a breath.]

There was a forest. A lot of screaming. Running. Fear. [She shakes her head.] And then it felt like she was shoving an ice pick into my brain right before I got kicked out. It was the same thing she did when I tried to read her mind on Andres Isle.

[witchwoman]

The Games. [She whispers the word.] He told me about them once. I can't imagine...

[Her gaze shifts to Elena, pleading.]

Can you show me? I just want to understand. Maybe if I can see it, I can reach him. Maybe I could--

[doubletake]

That's not how it works, Myri.

[She looks like she feels awful about it, too.]

I'm a mind reader, not a telepath. I can only peek in, I can't put things there, and I can't bring you with me.

[witchwoman]

Of course. [She chokes the words out.] I should have realized--

[She feels bad that she doesn't understand Elena's abilities better. And right now, everything is hyper emotional.]

[doubletake]

No, you shouldn't have realized anything. You didn't know.

[She's not about to let Myri feel guilty about MORE stuff. Nope.]

There are people back at the Castle who can, I'm sure. And if I could do it myself, I would. You know that.

[witchwoman]

I know. I just... I want to be able to understand it. Maybe if I could, I would be able to bring him back.

[doubletake]

I couldn't understand it, either. I think she dragged the memory out, threw him back into it, made it real. But I wasn't in his thoughts long enough to really know.

[She shakes her head.]

[witchwoman]

He's told me about it. What it was like in there. What his life was like after... It was horrible. And now he thinks that's the reality he's still in...

[doubletake]

We'll fix it, Myri.

[She puts her hands on the other girl's shoulders, giving them a squeeze.]

We won't let him stay trapped in there forever.

[witchwoman]

[She nods and tries to take Elena's confidence into herself, to let it bolster her.]

Of course.

[doubletake]

I'm gonna try to get some sleep. You want to come with?

[There are cuddles involved if so.]
