[  The Knights' mission to stop the signal and prevent Draken's cult from spreading whatever subliminal message  was lurking beneath Keijen Blade's performance was a success.  It didn't come without its bumps in the road, however:  Alexander Anderson showed up, and the Knights ran afoul of the Mind Master.    Buffy nearly died fighting Anderson, but in the end, he was defeated, beheaded, and hopefully put to death forever.   Finnick, though, found himself thrust into a mental illusion that convinced him he might still be in the Hunger Games, and left him uncertain about whether any of his life here was real.  

Another surprise came in the form of an announcement by Nadia Reichenov, an artist working with Crombe and company, that she was changing her band name and taking things in a 'new direction'.   This direction was perhaps revealed when after her performance, she approached the Knights in Rafael's dressing room - and handed them the necklace that connects her to the Nightmare God Malaak'a, saying she was willing to tell them everything.  ]

[rationalizes]

You're not keeping me from anything, Myri.

[witchwoman]

[She really doubts that, but she gets a decent sense motive to at least trust that Gar believes that it's true.]

I don't think I'll make very good company... [She feels like such a burden to them all right now.] But if you wanted to sit with me for awhile, that would be nice.

[rationalizes]

Certainly. [ she gives her a small smile, eyes warm, but still troubled, her attempts to mask her own fears about everything only semi-successful. it's clear, at least, that she doesn't want to be alone either, and that she doesn't find staying with myri to be a bother. still, she falls rather quiet unless myri has anything to say. ]

[witchwoman]

What would you do? [She finally speaks after maybe an hour of silence- or maybe it just feels that long.] If Jack... If he thought you weren't real, what would you...

[She trails off and shakes her head. It's too soon to think about, to worry about. But she's still not sure what she's supposed to do, what she could possibly do. And Gar? Gar has always been someone Myri could look up to. Her first mission leader. Her mentor's mentor. The woman who helped her learn to read, ever patient, ever kind. If anyone would know what to do in her shoes, she imagines it would be Gar.]

[rationalizes]

[ gar doesn't answer for a moment, clearly disturbed by the line of thought but giving it serious consideration. still, she's hesitant to answer. ] I... imagine that I would give him the space he desired, considering that his predicament would be no more his fault than that of someone who falls through the Veil and loses all memories of a life they once had. It's unfair to hold such a person accountable to the ... relationships they'd had before.

But I wouldn't stop looking for a solution, not until I'd exhausted every resource I had at my disposal.

[witchwoman]

[She takes a deep breath and nods.]

I know I need to give him space. And of course I'll keep looking. It just...it hurts so much.

[rationalizes]

I can't even imagine. And I'm certain that it hurts him too, not knowing what to believe. Feeling as though everything he's held closest to his heart might have been... might have been a deception.

[witchwoman]

[That's been the hardest part of her in all of this, thinking about the pain he's in. And feeling it herself, knowing just how much he doubts and how badly it hurts him. She's never felt like she needed to shield herself from Finnick's emotions, but this is a good deal like feeling both of their hearts breaking at once.]

Will you help me? Research- anything we can do. I know there are others more skilled in these particular matters, but you're... [She takes a breath to keep from crying.] Gar, I've always trusted you.

[rationalizes]

Of course I will, darling. This isn't just anyone. He matters to all of us.

And so do you.

[witchwoman]

[She nods.]

Thank you.

[And with a small sigh of relief at the idea of having Gar to help her, the night will go by a little easier.]
