One vampire attack is cause for worry enough, but when bodies are found with telltale puncture wounds and heavy loss of blood become a recurring nightmare across any city, alarm bells are raised.  Such is the case recently in Paris, where Wynn suspects that either a careless clan has moved in, or some lone vamps are stirring up trouble.  With the locations of the bodies marked out in the eight block radius where the deaths have been occurring, the team arrives in the late evening, staring at the rows of apartment blocks, small businesses, and pubs that comprise this section of town.

[ whoa boy. once the trunk is open, lissa is assaulted with the smell of old blood and she steps away abruptly, bringing her hands up to the frechwoman's arms in an effort to comfort her, soothing words soft, even as her eyes stay on the trunk and her companions. ]

[Helen grimaces but doesn't step back from the car. To the driver, she speaks, but this time a bit too frazzled to remember to use French.]

Does your car have any sort of recording device? A camera? [For safety or something. She figures it's a long shot.]

[ the woman's frenzied look back at the car indicates that yes, it does, but she's afraid to admit it. "Please! I did not do this! Are you the police?"

max takes a step forward to look inside, grimacing, but not flinching away. ] It won't matter anyway. Vampires won't show up on the recording.

[She forgets sometimes that these vampires are different than the ones she knows.]

Likely too much to hope that it records audio as well, then.

[Faith takes a glance at the trunk, she's not too squeamish, but that's a lot of a mess.]

Shit... [She glances to the crowd, letting them try to piece together a way to ID the vamp that did this. Faith is gonna dig through the body and try to find if they left anything behind when they shoved the mess in this trunk. (Search 15)]

[ she finds a bloodied matchbook that might have fallen out of a pocket: if it was the victim's or the vampire's, is harder to say. the woman shakes her head, explaining that the cameras only record images, to protect the privacy of businessmen, etc, who use their service. max puts a hand on lissa's lower back. ] You might want to explain to her that she's been framed, and that we're working on finding the person who did this.

[ lissa nods, moving forward to put a comforting hand on the woman's arm, relaying the information in her native tongue with reassurances that they know she's done nothing wrong. with her silver tongue and genuine compassion, it's very reassuring. (diplomacy 30) also, to double check... ]

As you sure you remember nothing out of the ordinary the past few weeks?

If she was dominated, do you think she's likely to?

[ still, the woman screws up her face, trying to think very hard. she finally admits in french that she did get back to the garage late at night and couldn't remember driving back there one day. she thought she might have just zoned out. ]

[ she shushes her boyfriend, holding up a finger behind her like DON'T QUESTION MY QUESTION, MAXIMILIAN, I'M THE VAMPIRE HERE. ]

Have you heard of that happening to anyone else you work with? [ like maybe there are other people not on their list. ]

[She'll palm the matchbook and then glance back to the group.]

We've got another address to check. [She produces the matchbook. They can see if anyone remembers anything about this body before it was just a bloody a body -- and maybe who they were with.]

[ she hesitates again but then nods and explains that there was another woman who sympathized with her after she admitted sheepishly to the experience. she gives them her name as well, and max glances at the matchbook, nodding subtly at faith. ] Merci.

[Helen nods and steps back so that they can let the poor woman decide just what to do with her cab. Pretty sure that's coming out of your paycheck, girl.]

Well- that was enlightening. [She says quietly, trying to keep out of earshot.]

I would say our best bet for now will be to follow up on what Faith has found. I'm afraid that any other frame jobs like our friend here will lead in similar circles.

[ lissa reassures the woman one last time before joining the group, curling her arms around one of max's because this is all very upsetting to her delicate sensibilities and also because she shushed him and feels a little bad.
