One vampire attack is cause for worry enough, but when bodies are found with telltale puncture wounds and heavy loss of blood become a recurring nightmare across any city, alarm bells are raised.  Such is the case recently in Paris, where Wynn suspects that either a careless clan has moved in, or some lone vamps are stirring up trouble.  With the locations of the bodies marked out in the eight block radius where the deaths have been occurring, the team arrives in the late evening, staring at the rows of apartment blocks, small businesses, and pubs that comprise this section of town.

See... I'm thinking that the odds are, I can probably go find them myself without your help. But if you help me find them, maybe I'll just give you a slap on the wrist. Let you off with a warning, since I'm being so considerate today.

[ that threat seems far too much for him, and it's clear that he doesn't expect anything resembling mercy from the older vampires of which he speaks, so he nods, avoiding her eyes. ] Fine. I'll do it. Let me go, and I'll make the call.

Good. [She eases up, but doesn't move too far from him. Clearly, the intent is to make sure he knows she can easily put him back into that position if he oversteps.]

Is your name really Tristan?

[ he hesitates again, before glancing back at her, digging in his pocket for a phone. ] ... No. Does it matter?

[Faith shrugs.] I guess not. I just figured, you might want to give me a bit of honesty. I mean, I think I earned it.

If you want the truth so badly, it's that who I was in my old life no longer matters. That's what this is: freedom. [ he scowls darkly before stepping aside to make the call where she can still hear him. His voice betrays nothing, and he calmly relays that he has something to share with them before hanging up. ]

[That's... not what she asked him to do, but she figures it's close enough and maybe some of them said they had something and couldn't make it.]

Did any of them say they had something of their own? I'm kinda looking for my friend.

[ maybe he got forgot that part in the middle of fearing for his life over here. we just don't know. quinn texts back that he's looking for and asks for an address. ] If I ask too much, they'll just get suspicious. You can find out when they get here.

How many are coming? [She goes to glance around the area, scanning the room for weapons or useful things to tie people up... or kill them. (spot 13)]

What's the address here? [She's going to get it, but then depending on how many are coming - she'll decide if she wants Quinn here or not. She really doesn't want to risk anyone else dying here.]

[ he rattles off the address, and she'd see that the basement doesn't exactly have a lot in the way of rope or anything else. there are some wooden chairs, some ducts and a furnace, a wash basin, some clothes, and some beautiful blood stains on the floor. classy. ] Four are coming.

[Four isn't too bad. She can handle four. She texts Quinn the address and then smirks at Not-Tristan.]

Well, let's go greet our guests.

[ scowling, he has no choice but to comply and heads upstairs again, where he glances around the narrow hallway, clearly feeling very exposed here. his eyes rivet to the door, and it's not too long before it's pushed open by a young man who looks like he might still be a teenager, who has spanish features and angry eyebrows. behind him is a blonde woman with a purple streak in her hair, who looks to be in her thirties, a brunette guy wearing a beige jacket with fringe hanging from the bottom like he's a cowboy, and a dark-haired man with a long red coat on and a large, unsettling smile.

the spanish vampire's eyes immediately rivet to faith, and he spreads his hands in a cautiously amiable manner, grinning over at not-tristan. ]

Well, what have we here?

[Faith eyes the fringe and tries really hard not to make a face. Her will save is a fancy 13 though and she can't hide the smirk. Or the commentary.]

You guys aren't planning on making me listen to your demo, right? Because, I can already tell that whatever music you think you're amazing at... you probably just need more honest friends. [She glances to not-Tristan. He really is unlucky, because the odds are pretty strong that Faith wouldn't have even ventured off into the night with any of these guys. Just look at their clothing. Fringe ... and Carmen Sandiego.]

So, we should probably get this over with. I'm looking for a friend. Brunette, long hair, feisty - was with my other friends that some of you guys killed tonight. I'm hoping, you'll just give me the info I need and then we'll see how nice I feel about your life expectancy. [(intimidate 23)]

[ the spanish vamp glances at his friends, chuckling, showing no signs of being afraid. lmao. his mistake. he saunters closer, as "tristan" shifts uncomfortably beside her, and the young vampire leans practically nose to nose with her. ] And if we don't?

[Clearly, Tristan knows what sort of risk this guy is chancing with his close proximity to her face. Faith smirks, not leaning away from his face.]

Well, I'm gonna guess that Tristan is gonna be upset when I have to kill him and all of you guys, too. But hey, I am still willing to play nice if you want to give me some information.

[ there's a snicker that runs through the others, and he just grins at her. ] I don't really do nice. [ and he's going to reach out to try and grab her under the chin with a grapple check... but he crit failed ahahaha and so she gets a free attack. ]

[These vampires are so cute. They need to brush up on Vamp Tactics 101. She just jams the heel of her hand up to his nose. (atk 29 | dmg 17). It's a love tap. As in she loves to beat up vampires.]

Yeah, I guess I don't have to now.

[AND... while she has you here. She'll send a punch to his stomach (atk 24 | dmg 20) and another just for luck (atk 28 | dmg 17).]

[ while the heel of her hand connects with his face, he manages to tuck his torso back just in time to avoid her first punch... and isn't so lucky with the next one.

tristan backs away, not wanting to get involved in the fight, positioned behind faith in the hall, as the spanish vamp tries to lash out in retaliation (atk 14 womp womp), but is too stunned by her heavy hitting to fare well.

the woman with the purple streak in her hair hisses, baring her fangs, and moves to faith's left side, trying to grab her (touch atk 25, which i don't think hits her defense? correct me if i'm wrong in the plurk). fringe moves to her right side, to do the same, but he also fails to get a grip on her, as she dodges away from them all.

the vamp in the back with the red coat just stands there, smiling, like he thinks this is all pretty hilarious for now. ]

[She doesn't get her hands on Faith, that's okay, Faith has a hand for her. She'll quick punch her in the face (atk 29 | dmg 17) and then she'll go back to the guy that started this with another punch to his throat (atk 31 | dmg 15).]

You wanna keep going or are you waiting for happy over there to try and give an assist?

[ all this seems to do is enrage all of them further. the woman tries furiously to smack her behind the head (atk 23 idt that hits either, can i have you give me her defense so i know?). the spanish vamp shrieks in rage, trying to slam his head against hers (atk 19). fringe also... miserably fails wtf vampires why can't you roll above 10 ]

[It doesn't hit (28) and Faith just opts to try and hedge her bets with her two attacks here and goes another for the guy that started this (atk 37 | dmg 15) with a knee to the groin and another for the girl with another punch to the face (atk 26 | dmg 20).]

I shouldn't have said anything... [Don't worry fringe, she'll get to you too.]

[ the girl dodges the blow, while the spanish vamp takes another sock to the jaw. she wheels away, and then her arm comes for faith's head, but the slayer manages to block it easily, while the vamp in front of her is too dizzied from taking all these hits to the face to get anywhere near her. FINALLY fringe gets a nat 20 touch attack on her, so they'll have to make opposed grapple checks as he tries to pull her head aside so that he can sink his fangs in her neck (its a d20+bab+str mod, and she has to beat a 17).

at that precise moment, however, the door busts open and... there's quinn standing behind the red-coated vampire. he takes all this in with raised eyebrows for half a second, and then raises a hand, flame rising up in his palm and dancing there as he eyes up the vampires. ] Glad I didn't miss the whole party.

[Faith gives Fringe a look as he tries to reach for her. EXCUSE. YOU. Whatever, these vamps are so adorable. She's sort of amused that Quinn burst onto the scene like he's got amazing timing, but really - these guys haven't gotten a single hit to land. It's like she's just knocking them around trying to get them to sit down and shut up.]

Nah, it's kind of a lame party anyway. [Another punch to the face for you Mr. Trouble-Maker (atk 35 | dmg 15) and an elbow to the gut for you Miss Mouthy Vampire (atk 30 | dmg 14).]

See, [She'll address Mr. Trouble-Maker directly.] you might want to re-think your current aggressive behavior. Cuz' I can go all night.

[ the spanish guy snarls: "Get him!" to the man in the red coat, as his fist actually gets a little closer to faith (atk 23). purple bitch yells something in french at not-tristan, finally backing away, but he stares at her like AHAHAA no. fringe tries to swing at her again, but her arm comes up to knock him aside once more, and his frustration grows. ]

Nice friends you've got. [ quinn takes the time to quip, before the vamp in red turns and lunges at him, with a hiss of fangs. he grabs hold of him, but quinn's eyes widen further and with a nat 20 strength check of OH SHIT NO, he shoves him off into the wall and sends an electric charge into his chest (9 dmg) ]
