The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ He actually almost doesn't recognize Natasha without the red hair. It's become such a staple since he's known her. That and her ability to sort of shut down in some ways. Not bad things, but things he's come to know her for. It takes him a moment to really process that she's now a blonde. And appreciate her in a dress.

His arms cross over his chest and he makes sure to look her over in the dress. A grin still in place. ]

I am. You look--[ He pauses for a minute. ]--different. Very pretty though. It's a nice look on you. [ He nods his head. ] What's with the new hair?

[She smiles at the compliment.] Spasiba. [Russian for 'thank you' (Спасибо). Spelled, technically, like spasibo. While some pronounce it as such, it's usually pronounced like spasiba -- sometimes spasiva. Because Russian dialects are fun like that. So is the Russian language as a whole for that matter.] Thank you. [And there's the translation.]

As for the hair, I thought it was time for a change. Just so things don't get too boring and feel like the same for too long.

[ Steve grins at her. Russian isn't something he's fluent in. SHIELD and the SSR made it a point for Steve to learn multiple languages. A way for him to blend in when he had to. Also a way for him to be the perfect soldier. He needed to be ready for wherever he was deployed. ]

Well, blonde is definitely new and not boring. Not that red was bad either.

[ He just shrugs his shoulders. ]

So how often do they have us dress up for these things?

It's a once a month thing. New people come in during that time, we welcome them with a party. I like it because it's a nice way to meet the new faces, sometimes catch up with old ones.

I guess that makes me feel a little bit better.

[ He grins at Natasha. It's good to be in the company of a teammate. Even if she doesn't remember Steve. ]

It's got interesting people I'll give it that.

Soon you won't be one of the newer faces around here. [her tone has a hint of teasing in it.]

[ He grins at her. ]

I think I can live with that. Everyone seems to get pretty surprised when they learn who I'm squired to.

Hope you weren't saving it for something. [she grins back.]

[ He shrugs. ]

Now I'm definitely not sharing any secrets with you. Because I'm pretty sure that just means you're gonna tell them.

[ It almost feels like normal despite her memory gaps. ]

He's a big deal from what I hear.

Wow ... wow. And I thought we were on a perfectly nice path to friendship here. [she halfway pretends to be mildly offended, but the expression on her face gives her away, as does her tone.]

I suppose that means you'll get to find out firsthand.

As far as I'm concerned we're already friends and I know you. Way too well.

[ He figures it's probably good she doesn't remember home. She won't remember Bruce or that he left her. He didn't like seeing her like that after he left. ]

You've tried to set me up plenty in the past.

Friends it is, then. [even if she doesn't really remember shit about him.] Well then, I'll need some details refreshed. [he's already filled her in some, sure, but she can learn the rest as he fills her in, if he does.]

Oooh... [STEVE YOU JUST GAVE HER AN IDEA.] I can pick that back up here soon enough I'm sure. [The smile she's giving now is one of someone with Plans.]
