The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Cybill smiles at the familiar face and shrugs, "I'm not sure. Surreal? I mean, month ago I didn't even realize there were knights. I'm still thinking it's just a big joke. Elaborate, though."

[allmydreams]

"Very elaborate, and with a very nice paycheck." Felicity nods as she glances around the room with a bit of a smirk. "If this is a joke? I'm at least going to sit back and enjoy it."

[crashing]

"Sounds like an amazing plan. I'm glad I signed up," she teases. Though, honestly, she is glad that she signed up. It'll help her family and give her a legitimate career.

[allmydreams]

She laughs in return before nodding. "Most of us are, at least until the mission you're on starts to go sideways. Then it's all 'Why did I do this? I could be on a beach somewhere right now. Instead, I'm being eaten by ghouls.'" She's still teasing a bit herself, but she can't say the thought didn't cross her mind once or twice. "It all usually works itself out in the end, though."

[crashing]

Laughing, Cybill shakes her head. "Trust me, no option for sitting on a beach for me. I didn't live that sort of life before I got this offer."

[allmydreams]

"Neither did I. But I did sort of consider it an ideal life goal." If she thought she could manage to sit still long enough without needing something to do. "Not that I'm really an idle person by nature, but for retirement, maybe? Go out staring at something beautiful."

[crashing]

Cybill wants to make sure she's understanding things right, "Go out? As in -- the final curtain or just a long vacation sort'v retirement?"

[allmydreams]

"More the latter. I'm not actually thinking that far ahead. I'm not really looking to die anytime soon." She's looking to live a long healthy life, despite what her choice of occupation would indicate to the contrary.

[crashing]

"Yeah, of course. I'm not wishing ill to you either," she tries to just clear that section of the conversation away.

"Do you have a squire of your own?"

[allmydreams]

She nods, more than willing to take the subject change and move on. "Yeah, I do. She's not on active duty right now because she just had a baby, but we still do training and stuff." She pauses for a moment, before looking around the room and seeing if she can spot Hayley (spot nat 20 apparently, because she always nat 20s for useless things). "I'm not sure if she's here tonight though."

[crashing]

"A baby? Not while on mission, I hope," she remarks. "I'm sure if she has any spare time, she uses it to sleep."

[allmydreams]

She laughs a bit at that, before shaking her head. "Oh, God no. I don't know if she's actually even been on a mission yet - but I do know she had the baby after she arrived here. And yeah, lots of sleep."
