The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[As the music ends, Elena reaches out for Kali's hand, intent on leading her toward the bar.]

Come on, drink time. I'm parched. Then maybe we can go for another round.

[ oh parched, kali likes that word. she lets elena lead her to the bar easily and once there orders a double scotch. she doesn't know if that's good or not, but it tastes like fire. ] Alcohol isn't a very good thirst quencher, but scotch is delicious.

[Elena orders a double whiskey and coke, and while she's not as a big a fan of the fire, it does the job it's meant for.]

You caught me. I'm just kinda in the mood to get silly.

[ kali watches elena do hers and then tosses her own shot back the same way, grinning as she sets it down.

I'm not sure I can get drunk, I've never tried.

[Since it's only the first one, she'd doing alright (fort 11) but she's not going to keep up with Kali if this keeps up.]

Anyone can get drunk if they try hard enough. We'll see if you need stronger stuff after a handful of these.

[ trying hard is something kali can definitely do. when the shots arrive she wastes no time tossing it back, already mastering the art of shots. she's a very quick learner. ]

[Elena looks suitably impressed, knocking back her second.]

Now we wait a bit, and come back for more if we need it. Too many too fast and you'll end up sick and that's literally the worst.

Make sure you drink some water too. Staying hydrated is the best way to try and ward off a hangover tomorrow.

[She didn't really think much of it, but the reaction makes her smile back. It's a normal smile, which is frankly pretty rare these days outside of the company of a select few.]
