The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Be right back. [ she moves away to grab a plate and pile it with food for cora, bringing it right back and setting it on the table. such a good friend tbh. ]

[She is the best friend and Cora will pick up one of the h'orderves with a grin.]

[ she shrugs, the usual tbh. ] Alex and I hung out and didn't kill each other.

[ PROGRESS. but "hung out" aka she took him to the pool to exercise so he wouldn't cough out a lung. same thing? ]

[Totally the same thing. Cora would consider that hanging out.]

Has he tried actual mentoring yet?

I think the hands off approach is his mentoring. [ she shrugs. ] I'm a crap student anyway. I wouldn't want mentoring.

[ at least she is self-aware. thea is mostly to blame for her and alex's issues. ]

[She smirks a bit at that before nodding.]

So I guess you just need him to talk to your mission leaders enough to tell Wynn when to promote you?

That's about it. I already had training with my dad, I really don't need to go through that again.

[Cora shrugs.]

And I guess you practice well enough on your own?

[withasouvenir]

Yeah, and Dante's good if I want a sparring partner. [ and someone to kick her ass tbh. she gets lucky, but he is just downright better than her. ]

[Cora nods once, before tipping her head to the side.]

You should still try and spar with other people too - if you only work with one person, you could get too comfortable with it.

[After a while, repetition and knowing the person's habits doesn't really help you in a combat situation.]

Offering? [ her eyebrows lift because that sounds like an offer to beat each other up tbh, and her easy smile indicates it's an offer that is not unwelcome. ]

[Her eyebrows lift in return before nodding.]

Sure. I'm usually in the training room most days.

I've noticed, Miss watch me do 100 pull ups. [ possibly only a slight exaggeration. they're usually on opposite sides of the gym/training room but thea is good about looking around. ]

[Her head ducks a bit.]

I don't do that many. It just ... a good way to blow off steam.

I know what you mean. [ just not with pull ups. thea's abs are on point tho, queen of the sit up. ]

[Sit ups are good too. Cora is also a fan of push ups. All the ab work, basically.]

Besides, there isn't always someone around to spar with. Have to do something to keep busy.

Yup. [ thea feels that. she's generally a more social person that cora is, but she can appreciate just working out on her own. it's calming. ]

[She nods in agreement.]
