The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.

O-Oh! So, your dad's a -- [ Knight. Obviously. Makes sense for this to be a whole family thing. She gives a nod. ] So, you probably know all kinds of people here. [ Unlike Buffy. Foreveralone.jpeg. ]

Was a. He's kinda retired. [She puts some lipstick on, looks at herself in the mirror, wrinkles her nose, then wipes it off.] But yeah. I know pretty much everyone. Not you, though. [She spins around on her stool and grins at Buffy.] Hi! I'm Andie.

Yeah, I'm new. [ Awkwardly; ] Kinda thought everybody would be. -- I'm Buffy. [ She manages to get the introduction out and find a smile. ] Nice to meet you. [ She gets her zipper up in back, heading over to the makeup counter and using the mirror to start working on her hair. ]

[asap]

[She grins, spinning around on her stool again. Feel special, Buffy, she's pretty much just staying to chat with you.] Nice to meet you too! And I'm the only legacy case this time around. Cause, you know, not just my dad. Mom too. And don't get me started on grandparents and great-great et ceteras.

[slays]

[ She would feel special except the more Andie talks about her awesome family ties and how far back they go in the knights the more awkward and out of place she feels. Still, she draws up an awkward smile. ]

Oh! That's ... Wow. Lots of family history.

[asap]

[This is the point where someone a bit more self-aware would shut up. Andie doesn't do that. Ever.] I know, right? Kinda pressure-ful. Man I hope they've got enough food at this party. I'm starved.

[slays]

We're gonna be living here, right? I'm pretty sure that involves food being around. [ Shrug. She's officially foreverdistant. ]

[asap]

No I know there's food here. [She'd been living at the castle already.] I just mean, you know, party! I hope it's not just those tiny little fancy party food things.

If it weren't, wouldn't it be a banquet instead?

Oh yeah, I guess. I wish we could have had one of those.
