The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.

[He is utterly unperturbed. Because she's adorable. :') Sven offers her a smile back.]

I don't know, does it feel lonely over here?

[She takes a moment to figure out the answer to that, clasping her hands behind her back as she walks around in the corner. Eventually she comes to a halt and rocks back and forth on her heels, making a soft 'hmm' sound.]

It doesn't feel as lonely with two of us here, but that doesn't mean you should stand back here and just watch the party go on without you.

But it's not. The party's moved over here now. [he stops being coy for a minute.] This isn't really my thing.

I'm not very sure if it's my thing or not. [She frowns, turning to look out at the crowd.]

I don't remember actually going to many parties. [Her hands knot together, and she glances over at him, forcing a smile.]

I'm Vanille. I recognize you from the ceremony, but I don't remember your name.

Sven. [He offers his hand out for a handshake.] What do you mean, you don't remember going to any parties?

[oerban]

Just how it sounded! I don't remember much of anything before waking up here. Pretty crazy, huh?

[Yeah, she knows it's crazy. It's ~whatever~, she's over it. She takes his hand and gives it a hearty handshake, with a little bounce in her rear end as she does so. It's probably easy to assume she's on speed or e something.]

So this is the first party I actually can remember being at. It's going to be really hard for anything else to live up to it, though.

Weird.

[whatever man, if she's on drugs he'll just wonder who her dealer is. so he can get some too. he considers her amnesia being magic or ... brain damage, but he won't say that out loud because he is tactful :'| ]

You think? It kind of looks to me like they have parties often here. There could be some other good ones.

But none will ever be as good as your first. It's that way with a lot of things, don't you think?

[She folds one arm up over her chest and brings her other one up so she can cup her chin, her thumb tapping up against it.]

Or maybe it just feels that way because you don't know any better. [He considers this while taking a sip of his champagne.]

What's that supposed to mean?

[Of course she would know better, when it comes to something like this.]

First memories are the most important, that's all I'm trying to say!

I don't know! I meant more of a ... general you. I was trying to sound intelligent or something.

Well, you didn't do a very good job.

[She's blunt, but almost apologetic in tone, as if she's sorry he didn't do a very good job. She laughs softly and shrugs, the topic not that big of a deal to her.]

Hey, do you want to dance?

[There's room out on the floor and there's music, so why not dance? It seems like the right thing to do at something like this.]

Only if you'll forgive me. [Given the tone of the party, he assumes she wants to ... fancy-dance and not trashy-club-slut-dance, so he sets his champagne aside somewhere and takes her by the hand and waist.

Annnnd with a dex roll of 9 he is not middle school levels of awkward, but does fumble around a little. Blame it on the a-a-a-a-alcohol.]

I guess I can forgive you.

[The words come out mushed together, and she grips hold of his hand and turns in so he can better hold her waist.

Truth be told, she's never danced like this before in her life, and has no idea what to do, so she's just going to follow his lead and try not to look stupid, and not really care if she ends up looking stupid anyway.

There doesn't need to be any rolling here to say that she's awkward and semi-clumsy and not entirely able to focus entirely on him. She's highly energetic, it's an issue. But she's trying -really- hard to make a friend here, so she focuses on him the best she can.]

Have you met the Knight you'll be squired to yet?

[Sven likes the energy, okay. It's hot.]

Nope. But I'm sure he-- she? They're around here somewhere. [He doesn't sound too concerned about it.] What about you?

Hmm...nope. Not yet. I was told that he's out on a mission, and I'll have to wait.

[She says this as if she couldn't possibly wait.]

I just hope I don't end up sitting around forever, waiting for him to show back up.

He'll be back soon. Has to be. Why would they give you a Knight who never shows up? [he twirls her around.] After long enough they'd probably just give you another one.
