[ Vi's baby comes first, the labor pangs beginning around 9pm on the 14th, while she's alone, watching TV.

Myri's wake her up in the middle of the night, at 4am, on June 28th.  ]

These are always rare and blessed occasions within our walls. I was glad you thought to send word.

[Okay, she's actually gonna cry now. Damnit, Wynn! Happy tears, at least. She's just too emotional.]

[ bwaa myri, it's ok he's the first of many guests. mark even manages to make it while she's still in labor, because hers lasts the next 14 hours .___. which is to... 6pm, I think?

[ it helps that solace is literally the best at this in the castle, ok. while it's not by any means a fun process, he does everything possible to make it easier for her with healing and drugs and it could be much, much worse, ok. when the hour finally comes, her friends gathered around, her daughter makes its way into the world, crying as she's brought by solace up to her mother's arms.

the child has a pale complexion like her mother, finnick's blonde hair, and one startling - and beautiful - feature: her eyes are a sparkling unnaturally bright emerald color. time to handle your little animal, mama. ] A very healthy little girl.

[For all the long hours of labor, the moment that her daughter is brought into view, Myri's eyes widen and she seems to get a second (or third) wind, eager to sit up and gather her child into her arms. She's been so worried about this, about how she might manage to be a mother when she had no example of her own as a child. She's been worried if she'll have enough love to give to make up for a missing father in this child's life.

But seeing her? Holding her? It's as if she's done this for her entire life, as if every moment before she knew this sweet girl was simply another step of preparation to hold her and soothe those little wails of displeasure. (handle animal nat 20. vi said she'd be a natural.) Her arms rock the baby girl gently, a soft tune humming in her throat. Her attention is locked completely on the little girl, memorizing her features, holding onto this moment for as long as possible.]

Oh, my sweet girl... [She whispers after a moment of awe stricken silence.]

[ vi is here by myri's side with lucia tucked against her chest in a little sling and she looks down at the newborn with utter delight. she stays quiet for a moment to not interrupt myri's first introduction to her daughter.

but then she can't help herself and blurts out, ] Myr, she's perfect.

Myri ...

[ Buffy approaches the side of the bed, watching without touching mom or baby but near enough to be supportive. After the mishap of Vi's orange baby, Buffy knows what to say this time, and there's warmth and love rife in her expression as she adoringly says, ] She's beautiful.

the baby doesn't seem to mind all this, she's too busy staring up at her mom with giant bright green eyes like she's just as fascinating.

mark's gonna creep on here because oh my god myri has a baby lOOK AT IT. he's also going to cry so i hope you're all prepared for that. ] Well heyyyyy there, precious. [ kat and gar crowd up beside him, and even gar's getting all misty-eyed over there. ] Your Uncle Mark made it here just in time, huh?

[Myri glances up at Vi, then Buffy, offering them both a gentle smile at their reactions. She reaches out a hand to briefly squeeze Vi's hand, then Buffy's. By the time she's finished with that, Mark is moving up beside her with Gar and Kat behind him. Seeing Mark cry just brings fresh tears to her eyes. Stop that, Mark.]

I'm so glad you're here. [She tells him, before letting her eyes sweep the room, taking in the sight of each of them. Her family.] All of you. You have no idea what it means to me. [Her eyes find Wynn, wherever he happens to be and she gives a meaningful nod to emphasize the small addition of:] Truly.

[Des probably wandered in before Myri began talking, having been waiting outside the whole time, because... honestly, friendship is great and all, but he doesn't really want to see a baby come out of Myri. That's just... where his line is.

He steps up a little closer to the bed to get a better look, smiling.]

Look at those eyes. She's gonna be a real heartbreaker.

[ vi kisses myri's hair, smoothing it down before shifting to steal a seat next to her on the bed and rub her back. she doesn't want myri to be overwhelmed with emotion so she's determined to be a steady presence. also, with her sitting, there is more room for other people to crowd around. ]

Happy birthday, Shayla Anemone. Welcome to the world.

[Each comment brings a smile to Myri's face, looking to her friends before gazing back down at her daughter in absolute wonder.]

You have the largest, most loving, [She can't hold back a light laugh] strangest family that anyone could ask for.

[Lifting the baby girl up a bit, Myri presses a soft kiss to the top of her head, murmuring quietly but a lot of them are probably close enough to hear.]

And I'll always be here. Stargods as my witness.

A fine addition to our home. [ wynn says quietly, but loud enough for myri to hear as he moves forward to place a hand on her shoulder for just a moment. ] Welcome, little one.

[Myri looks up at Wynn, eyes filling with tears- both of sorrow and joy. The little girl also glances up at Wynn and lets out a gurgling noise which makes Myri laugh lightly.]

Her way of saying thank you, I think.
