[ Vi's baby comes first, the labor pangs beginning around 9pm on the 14th, while she's alone, watching TV.

Myri's wake her up in the middle of the night, at 4am, on June 28th.  ]

[ risa leans over to grab her hand and let her squeeze the shit out of it.

hours is right, tbh. she's going to be in labor for 19 of 'em. kat comes back, and gar probably comes too, and i assume wynn drops by for a little bit, but it's mostly long hours of oh my god just get on with it baby. 8|

she does have to make a ~fortitude save~ ]

as it slowly plods along, she will make elena and felicity get some rest, even if it's just in another bed in the light wing because let's not all be exhausted and she knows what they're like without sleep and coffee. some time, probably the next day, she'll have elena call the rest of failboat (and mark, again) to let them know that something is happening, but slowly so don't fucking rush 'cause wow this is taking forever.

she'll even try to get some sleep herself, but her fort save was an 11 so... who knows how successful she is or if she can accomplish any of that. :) ]

[ there is probably not a lot in the way of sleep going on, but risa has sleep spells so she can probably get her a little magical nap and then dispel it later if that's what vi opts for. either way, the actual delivery goes off without a hitch, and risa can help relieve the pain a bit.

lucia is born on june 15th at 4pm i think? math is hard. but when she does come out, risa's eyes widen a bit when she sees her. ] Oh.

[ vi will take that magical nap, please, and the pain relief as well. by that time, presumably, the women of failboat that wanted to be present have arrived so when risa says "oh" which sounds like the most ominous "oh" to ever be uttered, she looks around wildly between them. ]

It's ... [ Buffy's face contorts in a series of thoughtful looks, mingled with discomfort, confusion, and straining for dismissal. She grasps for affirmation but then quiets and lets her reassurance trail off, instead opting to confirm in a hushed, ] Is it supposed to ...? [ She looks to Risa. ]

[Elena's face is perfectly calm. In fact, she even looks a little affronted by these comments, okay.]

[Elena's response seems to snap Myri out of a shocked daze. She glances to the woman, before looking back to Vi and nodding in agreement with Elena's comments.]

And healthy, from the looks of it. [Also important!! More important than... what everyone is still trying to process here.]

Why don't you meet your mother, little one? [ risa wraps up the baby or whatever idk, to hand it up to vi... so that she can see what everyone is reacting to.

it's probably that the healthy, crying babe is... orange.

not neon orange, but still noticeably orange, not unlike starfire tbh.

it has human-looking ears, but its facial features have the pointier nature of an elf. her eyes have a riot of mixed colors within them, much like vi's own, but they also have that bright aasimar shine to the green of them, that makes it pop like crazy when she does open her eyes. and she already has a little bit of brown hair, that also looks like vi's. time for your first handle animal check mom. ]

Oh. [ vi gathers the baby in her arms with surprising ease (handle animal 20 total), and looks down at her with awestruck eyes, one hand lifting to trail her finger down the bridge of the baby's nose, across her little bow lips. tears spark in her own eyes as a smile washes all the confusion and fear from her face, melting into a rapturous wonder.

she doesn't seem to mind the orange. ] Happy birthday, glowbug.

[ the baby's tears quiet and she seems very glad to be here, so this is cool. hi mom. o__o

kat creeps closer to look down at her. ] She's so little.

Prepare to get spoiled rotten, kid.

[Felicity is just hanging out over Vi's shoulder and she grins down at the little bundle of joy with a grin.]

There will be so much spoiling. More spoiling than anyone would ever know what to do with.

She just learned to breathe on her own, I'm not sure she can prepare to be spoiled.

[ vi is just fascinated by this tiny little person she made and doesn't seem likely to look away from her daughter any time soon. if ever. love at first sight continues to be a very real phenomenon with violet, risa gets to witness it twice. ]

Did anyone reach Mark yet?

[Her voice has this kind of dreamy quality. She might be more concerned with tiny baby than Mark.]

He said he'd come as soon as he could, but it might take him a little while to get here.

[ a tiny furrow crops up between her eyebrows, but that seems to be the only indication that she's upset. too busy being in love with her daughter to mind. it's not pressing, and maybe as soon as he can will get him there for myri's birth, which she knows her friend would appreciate. ]

That's fine, I'm not going anywhere. [ she's completely dumbstuck by this tiny creature, but finally she lifts her head to look between elena and felicity, mouthing "thank you" at them both before her gaze drops back to the baby. ]

Your daddy would have loved you, Lucia.

[the good thing about a NINETEEN HOUR LABOR is at least it gives your friend who lives overseas some time to get his ass over here. he probably had to rush here from the airport, but WHATEVER HE IS HERE NOW. And he isn't gonna make any Great Pumpkin jokes, because he occasionally has tact, you bitches.

so here he is, one hand on the doorframe of her room, looking a little bewildered, so that's probably because BABY??? and less because the child looks like Starfire.] Well. Look at that.

[Turning at the sound of Des' voice, Myri smiles and waddles (because she's so fucking pregnant at this point) over to him, taking his hand and tugging him further into the room so that he can get a better look at the new arrival.]

[ vi is grateful myri collects des, because if gives her a little time to collect herself, wiping her eyes and using the tears that have dripped on to lucia's cheeks to draw a little cross on her forehead and lips, murmuring a roman prayer as she does so, blessing her own child. sorry, little thing, didn't mean to rain on your birthday, but now it's a blessing to ward off the evil eye?

Oh! [Myri jumps at Des' side and reaches for her phone. She just remembered! Time to pull up Skype and see if Spike has a minute to say hello.]

Who are you calling? [ for a moment, vi thinks myri is calling finnick, but when reality crashes down on her again, she is suddenly overwhelmed with wanting the people that can't be there -- luthir, finnick, jade, her parents -- and her eyes drop back to the baby as grief swells in her chest. ]

Actually would you guys mind if I had a little time alone right now?

[ she feels guilty, asking them to leave when they only came to support her, but she knows she needs it, too. it's not as if they can't come back later. ]

[She speaks up before anyone else can say otherwise. Not that she thinks they will, but you know.]
