[ Vi's baby comes first, the labor pangs beginning around 9pm on the 14th, while she's alone, watching TV.

[ lucia coos at elena's voice, new person!!, kicking her little feat like she's trying to jump right into elena's lap. ]

I think she'll get mad if you don't, honestly.

[She chuckles, reaching forward to pick up the little bb in her hands and pull her close to cradle her in her arms (handle animal 13).]

Could you be cuter? I don't think so.

[ man, lucia is so happy to be snuggled up in elena's arms, batting her hand at elena's chest like can i have these too? but then she lets out a tiny infant yawn so elena's boobs are free of being continually fondled. ]

We might be a little biased, but she obviously loves you. Why wouldn't she, first person to ever call her beautiful. [ the way vi looks at her friend holding her baby so gently gives way to how important that was to her and how grateful she is. maybe it's the hormones still wreaking havoc in her body, but just looking at them makes tears spark in her eyes. ] I'm so glad she gets to grow up with you in her life. If anyone can teach her to be comfortable in her own skin, it's definitely you.

I most definitely won't be the last, though I'm happy to have that title.

[Because Vi's baby was gorgeous and anyone who ever says otherwise will get to answer to her.

Elena also can't seem to take her eyes off the tiny one, teeth idly tugging at her upper lip as she just watches with awe.

She's never really been around babies. She had no idea, basically. So tiny, so precious.]

I hope I can be that for her. It'd probably be one of the best things I could ever do.

Luthir was always so... steady. And I, I am not that, not at all. I'm the opposite of that. I'm a hot, wild mess and it feels like something's always pulling at me, like I don't really belong... to humanity. Luthir always made me feel like I was grounded, like even if I floated away he'd pull me back.

[ reaching out, she squeezes elena's hand, exhaling slowly through pursed lips so she won't cry. ] You make me feel that way, too. And I've never told you how grateful I am for that.

I know a little about how that feels, too.

[Elena seems intensely effected by this whole conversation, and she snugs the baby a little closer even as she squeezes Vi's hand back.

Her eyes are a bit watery when she finally replies, her voice shaky but managing to hold some humor as well.]

[She scoots closer, leaning her head on Vi's shoulder.]

One day I'll make an honest woman of you. [ the teasing is an effort to continue to lighten the heavy mood she'd settled between them.

Honestly, I have no clue. I don't remember my dad and my mom... [ she shrugs. ] It's not like she was around.

I can't remember mine, either. But Ric's told me some stuff, so I know I'm adopted, and that pretty much my entire family was dead before I came over here anyway.

Maybe from behind bulletproof glass, but I want her to have experiences. I can't shelter her just because I'm scared of losing her. I never would have found Luthir if I didn't do stuff, however idiotic it may be. I want her to be able to do things too.
