[ Vi's baby comes first, the labor pangs beginning around 9pm on the 14th, while she's alone, watching TV.

Myri's wake her up in the middle of the night, at 4am, on June 28th.  ]

She doesn't actually cry that much. [ lucia kicks her feet aimlessly and coos in an effort to agree with her mom apparently. ]

Already got the being good for Mom thing down. [Rose's focus drawn to Lucia and some of the tension she came with easing from her shoulders.] Good to know.

[Annnd IDK if she has slightly pointed ears or anything but ya know, Rose would totally be looking for any similarities to Luthir. (Spot 35... I guess she's looking really hard.)]

Now if she would just sleep and maybe go more than a couple hours between eating, we'd be in business.

[ well. she's orange for one thing. like a creamsicle. while she doesn't have elven ears, she has the pointed features of of her father. her bright eyes are a riot of colors like her mother, with the green having the intense brightness of her divine heritage, not unlike the blue in violet's eyes. the soft wisps of her downy hair are also similar to to her mother. ]

[Yeah she can't miss the coloring and bless, Rose doesn't really know enough about babies of any kind, let alone magically changed babies to know what the deal is.]

Her um - skin tone? Is that like, an Elven thing or an Aasimar thing or a... combination-y... thing?

[ her lips purse a little, but she shrugs helplessly. ] I dunno. Probably both. Maybe nothing, maybe it's a blessing, maybe it's a curse. Most likely I fucked something up.

[Her head cants to one side and she looks down at Lucia for a long quiet moment before a smile quirks the corner of her mouth.]

Nah. [She figures you got her here Vi so there's no way you fucked something up.] Just makes her special. 'round here that's a good thing.

Is it? So far special has just kind of gotten us fucked over. [ she fiddles with the stuffed rabbit in her lap. (she says it's lucia's, but it's really vi's.) ] I know it's all going to work out the way it's supposed to, but... normal looks so nice.

Maybe. [It was hard to really argue that given well... everything ever #kol.] But it's also what got us here. [And there'd be a lot of things that would be worse if not for that, a lot more bodies that had to be dredged out of the Hudson for one.]

Nice... [She tries for a small, half smile.] But boring as all hell.

You sound just like Kat. Can't wait to get back out there. [ lucia fusses a little and with ease, vi scoops her up and tucks her in to eat without missing a beat. ] I offered to blow something up for her but she said it's not the same thing.

[Yeah, about that?] It's a lot more fun when the things we blow up belong to the bad guys.

[Rose and Kat need to be friends TBH.]

I feel more like myself when I'm out there, doing something. I don't do waiting to respond, ya know?

I know how you feel, believe me, but there is more to life than fighting. I don't mean like... sentimentally or whatever, I mean like, literally. Life just happens that way, it's not non-stop all the time always. There's always going to be an ominous calm before it implodes. Might as well make the best of it.

I've been hearing that a lot lately. [Though there's still a hint of skepticism in her tone, like she doesn't quite believe that one yet.]

Well... when you put it that way. [A chuckle escapes but there's a tightness around her mouth and eyes because Rose does know how right Vi is about that ominous calm.] Maybe Dean and I should take that roadtrip.

[LBR. A Dean and Rose roadtrip would still involve fighting in some way. Either whatever trouble they find along the way or ya know, each other.]

[Her expression turns a little more serious, Rose hesitant before she asks.]

Would you... do it all again? Knowing what you do now? [She suspects the answer will be yes but still, there's a part of her that just wants to hear that.]

Would I marry Luthir knowing that I would only have one day with him as my husband and would have to raise our daughter alone? Yes. I'd do it a hundred times. It was the best ten minutes of my life and I will never regret anything that helped bring Lucia into this world. And neither would he.

[ she shrugs, running a finger down the bridge of the baby's nose. ] I would have followed him anywhere. He was worth everything.

[Maybe she should be sad given the fact that at the end of the day, Luthir is still not here but a smile settles easily across her lips and she bobs her head in understanding and agreement.]

He was pretty good at inspiring that in people. [A willingness to follow him anywhere.

She watches Vi with Lucia for a moment, content to allow silence linger if need be before speaking up again.] I know you've got plenty of people who are there to help out or whatever but you know if you need anything? I mean I suck at babies but, whatever I can do... you just have to say the word.

Well, you can keep me company so I don't go insane. She's cute, but Lu's not exactly the best conversationalist.

You sure about that? I think people have said the same about me. [Grinning. Granted they mostly just say that Rose tends to hit first, ask questions later but it's almost the same.]

At least you know words, she just sort of... [ she trails off and lucia doesn't even take the opportunity to gurgle or fuss, just lays there silently trying to bat at vi's long hair. ] That.

Are you - [She hesitates a moment, not sure of she really wants to ask the question before pushing through.] Planning on staying on in the Castle with her?

For now, yeah. If I can survive a winter on my own with her I might think of getting a little cottage in the woods.

[ the castle is her home, for sure, but sometimes she was unable to distance herself from the oppressive threats of war and death without physically distancing herself. and she's been fighting for over half her life, she's going to keep fighting long after all the people she loves are dead, she will allow herself the chance to actually live her life guilt free. ]

I can't build for crap but I've had some experience with moving heavy things from one place to another so... if you do?

[Of course that would be one of the random things from her life that Rose would actually remember. Sometimes she thought the veil stripped her of anything decent and left her with a lot of grief and annoying crap.]

I can handle the building. [ her fingers drum against the ground and some roots spring up out of the grass to twist into a tiny house. maybe for a mouse! ] Not so much the lifting, so thanks, I'll pay you in pizza and my heavenly presence.

[Rose watches with a kind of quiet awe, still it seems taken by what people could do, even with all she'd seen before the veil and since.]

Oh yeah, you had me at Pizza. [Grinning and far more relaxed than she had been when she first sat down.] I can probably rope in Dean and Sam for some of the heavy lifting as well... [You're welcome boys.]
