The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

Bear. [ she holds up her hands like bear claws and makes a growly noise. ] Like rawr.

No, no. Sorry. Duh. I know what a bear is, are you telling me that Gus' familiar is a bear?

Not familiar, he's a druid. Mellie's just his friend. [ she leans in like she's dropping some knowledge. ] I think she's named after Malina and Malina's familiar is named after him.

I asked if Cora could name her dog after me, but Bernie is a boy.

I'm sure there's a boy version of Kali if we think hard enough. Oh! Or she could have named him Pegasus.

[ that is a valid point and she tucks it away for next time. ] He looks like a Bernie though. He's a Bernese Mountain Dog.

Fair. [ She nods. ] Well, the good news is there will probably be plenty of dogs to give cute names.

Malina and I rescued a small flock from guys that were gambling with them, but she brought most of them to the shelter.

Smart woman. Otherwise, you'd have like five hundred puppies on your hand by the end of the year, I bet.

There are a lot of dogs. Cora's friend's dad has like... a ton. Nathan has a lemur I take care of when he's being Nathan. His name is Barry.

No, I don't think so. He won Barry in Vegas.

I imagine he's rather intimidating in combat. It must disheartening to think you've won and then Nathan just... gets back up.
