The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

Have sex in a spaceship for the sake of it? [ She raises her eyebrows, then glances around, trying to give it some thought. ] Only if it were working. And we were actually in space.

[ambitionist]

Well, Skye, sometimes we just have to take what we can get. And if there's a fairly attractive guy with a broken spaceship just hanging around ... well, why fuckin' not? But that does put it into perspective.

[hacker]

[ convincingly deadpan, ] Hey, don't compromise your dreams. You're better than that.

Thanks for the pep talk, you really turned me around. [snort] Okay, so look. Kali and I watch movies sometimes. To like, pop culture educate her and whatever. If you ever wanna hang out with us, I'm betting she'd probably be into it.

[hacker]

Yeah? Does this mean I'm being adopted into your clique? [ She grins, not affording him the chance to answer before she shrugs and nods. ] Sure. I don't see why not.

[ambitionist]

Uh-huh. [teasing] And on Wednesdays we wear pink.

And all without the hazing-indoctrination phase. Lucky me.

Well, if it'll make the experience more fulfilling for you, I'll tell you to ... [his eyes move upward while he thinking of an appropriate ~hazing~] fuck, I dunno, steal someone's panties. Used.

Definitely not helping, but I feel like I should clarify that I'm not completely gay, I'm equal opportunity.
