The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[He offers a hand, as well as a broad smile. It still feels a little strange, using his name instead of introducing himself to people as the Host, though it's been years since he played that particular role in earnest.]

Let's just say this isn't my first time fighting the good fight. Thought I was retired, but, well--

[His smile turns just a little bit bittersweet as he gives a fluid shrug.]

Can't ignore when duty calls. Someone apparently thought my abilities would be useful-- made me think maybe I wasn't quite done with playing champion support just yet.

I think as long as you're alive, the choice to help save the world is not one you can really retire from. But it is better to be helping the good guys.

Problem is, I'm not much of a fighter.

[But he knows better than most people that there's a hell of a lot more to the good fight than swinging a sword in the right direction.]

You're right, it is better-- things just got a little muddy awhile back. Working with the good guys didn't feel quite as good as it really ought to.

Not all fights are won on a battlefield. I'm sure you know this fact. And I tend to define good by my intentions, than the results. If that helps.

So, this is a lot grander than I was expecting in a party. But this whole place is a lot more than I was expecting. I have not been anywhere near like this in my entire life.

I can think of a few celebs with particular taste that might have thrown a bash like this back home-- by Hollywood standards, this is tame. Classy, though-- love what they've done with the place.

So far. There is not a lack of things to do, or people to meet. It will be interesting to see how the view changes when we are on a mission and learn what is expected of us

Gotta admit, I'm a little nervous about the whole mission thing.

More of a support player. I suck at sports. Combat, really not my thing. I know there's more to it than that, but still.

Although I don't quite have the connections here that I'm used to having at my disposal.
