The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[he just laughs] Turbo? That is not one I have been called before.

[he leaned in a bit to Skye, smiling] I will clear one thing... I am not trying to flirt with you for anything more than your friendship, Skye. I may be a rogue, but I do have some sense of honor.

[ A flicker of something genuine crosses her expression, but it's buried quickly beneath wry humor as she asks, ] A rogue, huh? Guess the pirate outfit's no accident.

[he laughed at that] Yes, this look is very standard these days. However, I never graduated to the peg leg parrot level.

[hacker]

Yeah, well, with a whole squad of clerics ready to put you back together, I think you can rest assured that peg legs are not in your future.

Good. And hopefully no parrots either, no matter how much of a zoo this place can be. I'm more of a cat person.

Good to know.

[ She nods her understanding, as if she plans to remember that. ]

So I have one question for you. [he held out his hand] Would you care to dance?

[hacker]

Well, I didn't put this dress on for nothing. [ grinning, she reaches out to take his hand. she takes the initiative to drag him out into the center of a group of dancing knights, spinning back towards him and holding up her other hand to steady it on his shoulder. ]

[and he will follow her, laughing as they get to their spot and he will put his arms in the appropriate places. He's a bit stiff (dance 8) as they start]

I am not as well taught on formal dancing.

[ dance 22 has her looking like she's a natural, airy and flowing across the dance floor effortlessly. she makes this party look good. ]

For starters, try not thinking about it so much. Not all dancing has to be formal.
