Planning two baby showers in a month with Felicity had been a fun endeavor, though Elena's ideas for Myri's had changed drastically as it had gotten closer. What would have likely been a more social affair had turned into something more intimate following Finnick's departure. The date had been moved back a bit and the guest list trimmed.

The last thing Elena wanted was for Myri to feel like she needed to be particularly social for the sake of others, but at the same time she wanted her friend to be able to celebrate. This seemed like the best way to do that.

The colors are a gentle muted pink and white, and there are tables set up with treats, finger food, drinks and presents, accented with soft bouquets of delicate white flowers. Instead of games, they've set everything up as just a quiet gathering of friends to keep things simple but fun.

Just like at Vi's, there's also a table for making personalized onsies for the new baby, as well as a table for writing letters to both Mommy and baby that Myri can open up at a later date after the birth.

[Myri is beyond grateful for everything that's been done for her and her child. Despite still feeling lost with Finnick, she does her best to put all of that aside for today. Celebrating the upcoming birth of her child is enough cause for a few smiles. She's quiet, though, sitting off to the side and picking idly at a plate of food. All of this is still new to her, even after experiencing a lot of the same at Vi's shower. Whenever she's approached, she smiles, welcoming any conversation.]

[ vi has spent the last thirty minutes writing a very badly spelled and punctuated letter and made herself cry (which isn't hard when she's the size of a blue whale and cries at everything) and then spent ten minutes designing an adorable onesie that she drops in myri's lap as she s l o w l y sits next to her.

whales swim in pods, you see. whale bros unite. ]

Too cutesie? [ which she asks because the onesie says "sweetpea" and has a little pea pod on it. ]

[Gathering the garment into her hands, Myri looks it over and smiles a bit.]

It's perfect. [Her baby is gonna wear the shit out of this one... for like the five seconds she fits in it before she gets too big.]

Duh, where else would I be when my sister is having a party for my future niece? I made her one with a mustache too, so she and Lu will match and they can roll their eyes at us when they're teenagers like "oh my god, Mom, why were you so lame!"

I suppose now's as good a time as any to admit I... can't quite draw. [ gar tried to design a onesie that had the knights' logo on it but with her craft 9 it's not... the most beautiful illustration ok. she hands it over sheepishly. ] But perhaps the baby won't notice.

I hope not. Because the kid probably shouldn't be exposed to this kinda language. [ kat drops her off, which totally says "BB BADASS" and with a craft 22, it's actually in an awesome font with cool little designs on it too. ]

[Oh my gosh. She has the cutest friends. She can't help but smile at all of these adorable outfits.]

I love them all. [She says sincerely, clearly tickled by how they each so nicely sum up her friends.]

I can't wait to see how see looks in each of them.

[Myri got a respectable 16 wis to be in tune with what Gar was aiming for.]

It's our crest. [She says softly, still smiling.] And it's beautiful.

[rationalizes]

I thought it would be a bit simpler than it turned out to be. But yes, that's, er, the idea.

[witchwoman]

She'll look lovely in all of them, I'm sure.

Well, tell her to hurry up so we can find out.

Believe me, if I had my way, she'd be here already.

[Take it up with the GM's dice, Kat.]

[Felicity doesn't really know Myri well, but she offered to help Elena plan this for her, and as a result is taking care of all of the behind the scenes things so that Elena doesn't have to. Refilling food trays and drinks, making sure the supplies were still available as needed.

Eventually, when the party starts to clear out a little, she will make her way over to the crafts table and start working on her own onsies for the baby (craft 15).]

[Myri waddles over as Felicity finishes her handiwork.]

I appreciate you doing this. It's lovely.

[She glances over with a small smile before shaking her head.]

It was my pleasure. I was happy to help. Are you enjoying everything?

[witchwoman]

Oh, yes. It's more than I could have ever hoped for.

Good, I'm glad.

[From what Felicity has heard from Vi, Myri's probably been in need of it, but she won't actually say that out loud.]

[witchwoman]

You and Vi are close, I take it? [Myri doesn't know many of Vi's non failboat friends. She's not the social butterfly that Vi is.]

Yeah, she's like my sister.

[In fact, Vi is very, very important to her.]

She was one of the first people I met when I joined the Knights and we just ... clicked, you know?

[witchwoman]

[Myri nods.]

I know what you mean. I think her of like a sister as well. Which I guess would make us family. In a way. [She offers a small smile.]

[allmydreams]

[There's a small smile in return as she nods.]

I suppose it would. Family by Vi.

[As opposed to family by blood.]

[witchwoman]

It seems only apt since she and I considered ourselves family after having the same mentor knight.

[allmydreams]

Really? I didn't know that.

[Her mentor was Val'drin. She got on well with him, but she never felt compelled to seek out other knights he mentored.]

That must be nice - to have that thing to connect you instantly.

[witchwoman]

[Hey, Thoster was squired by Val'drin! Sometimes you don't need to seek it out. But I digress.]

It is. Gar squired Kat. Kat squired both Vi and I. And I squired Elena. With all of us on the same mission, it just made it seem like we were meant to be there together.

[She did not know this! They will have to chat about this one day.]

The world works in mysterious ways. I didn't know I had actual family here until he showed up at one of the squiring ceremonies. I guess it just goes to show that you're never really alone.

He? There's someone here you knew before you joined?

[allmydreams]

[She nods.]

Gus Harrison? Technically Malina Harvey too, but I was closer to Gus. He looked out for me when I was in high school.

[witchwoman]

I don't think I've had the pleasure to meet them. I'm glad they're here for you though.

[allmydreams]

Me too. It definitely helped it feel like home.

[Then, curiously.]

Do you have anyone from home here?

[witchwoman]

[She shakes her head]

I didn't have anyone back there.

[allmydreams]

[She nods once, her face going sympathetic because she knows what it's like to have no one, and it sucks quite a bit.]

Then I'm glad you found family here.

[witchwoman]

As am I. It seems I went from having none to having more than I know what to do with.

[allmydreams]

[That makes her smile.]

That's always the best feeling. I know that it was for me, anyway.

[witchwoman]

I can't imagine going back to how I lived before. Everyone here- you're all so important to me. [Yes, you too Felicity. It doesn't take much to end up absorbed into Myri's family, so helping throw her a party and being as close as you are with Vi, this shouldn't be at all surprising.]

[Awww, Felicity is touched. She was more than happy to help, especially when there are babies involved.]

I don't think you will. This doesn't seem like the kind of place that lets go of people easily.

[She smiles and nods, content with that answer- or at least happy to fake it for the duration of this party.]

[She nods as well, before reaching forward and giving her hand a squeeze.]

I should go check on the food. But it was nice meeting you, finally.

Oh yes. Same to you. I'm sure I'll see you soon.

[She nods in agreement, and with that she's off to go check on things and make sure the party's going smoothly. /scene]
