OPEN - (1: Natasha setting up blind dates for Steve Rogers / 2: dates with Steve Rogers)

WHO ||

1). PART ONE is: Natasha Romanoff + any ladies in particular of the castle who are at least over 18. (Please read this for more details, including how to sign up.)

2). PART TWO is: Steve Rogers + his dates!

WHAT || If you specified that you wanted to play out the initial interaction with Natasha, this is what is happening in the first part of this log. The second part of the log is the actual dates!

There will be a thread starter (edit: here now! ) for the initial interaction with Natasha (I'd rather multi-thread this than have it single thread, for the sake of my sanity). Jesse, however, is the guy to talk to about starters for the dates with Steve.

WHERE || In and around the castle, with Natasha. For Steve, anywhere the date is happening.
WHEN || Natasha and Steve talked again at the April after party, so we can say this is ... May/June? I can adjust if needed, however.
HOW || Prose or action.

[She smirks as she holds her hands out to her sides.]

Hey - I was born and raised in Queens. They indoctrinate us early and turn us into gluttons for punishment. Also they are in fifth place right now and the Yankees are in ninth. So don't talk to me about how they suck.

[She is very defensive of her team, mostly because Gus has forced her to be over the years.]

Alright. I can give you that.

[ They had to break the news of the Dodgers departure to Steve when he woke up from the ice. He was very distraught over the loss of his Brooklyn favorites. Yankees make up for it though. ]

Before the ice I loved the Dodgers, but when I woke up they told me about their move. Yankees are all I got left. [ He smiles. ] I guess we can't talk baseball too much.

We can talk baseball. I am incredibly capable of talking about baseball like a reasonable person. But so long as you don't judge me for being loyal to my team, no matter how much they may choke, I won't judge you for going with the obvious choice.

[She's obviously teasing, because she doesn't take baseball that seriously, but years of Gus being on her case about her favorite team has given her thick skin.]

I really didn't know that Mets fans were reasonable.

[ He's just messing with her now. It's not everyday that Steve gets to relax like this and not have to talk shop. ]

The obvious choice? Back in my day they were the only smart choice. Yankees and the Dodgers were--let's just say they blew your mind.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Twenty-five rings, blah blah blah.

[Back at the castle, Gus Harrison is sitting up and going "TWENTY SEVEN RINGS" and he doesn't quite know why.]

I just happen to prefer a team with character.

[Yeah. Sure. Character. That's what we'll call it.]

[ Don't you knock the Kings of baseball, Malina. No one asked you to root for the Mets. You did this to yourself. ]

A team with character? [ He holds his hand to his heart. ] Jeeze. If that's what you consider character then you might wanna rethink your definition.

[Yeah, and you all are going to be kicking yourselves when they make the playoffs this year and the Yankees don't.]

Hey. We have suffered and we have bled, but my team is going to go the distance this year. Just you watch.

[ Steve is pretty sure the only way they can do that is if someone makes a deal with the devil to make that possible. Don't go making deals with the devil, Malina. That's bad. ]

I'll believe it when I see it. Right now it's sorta just seeming like a pipe dream.

[She doesn't have to make a deal with the Devil. She just has to bide her time and wait.]

We'll just have to see what happens.

[And she glances over to the boats.]

And probably talk about less divisive subjects.

[ She's probably got a point. Discussing sports teams when they're so drastically different is likely not a good idea. Though they've done a good job or remaining pretty calm. No outrageous fights over who has the better team. ]

Sure. Are you from here? [ Meaning this side of the veil. He's pretty sure he's never asked her that. He leads them over to the boat that's got people climbing on. He holds out his hand to help her onto the boat. ]

[She will take that hand because her legs are not long ones and she appreciates his gentlemanly-ness.]

Yep. I've lived on this side of the Veil my entire life.

[ Once she's in the boat he follows her onto it and leads her towards two of the seats. Steve waits for her to take whichever one she wants and takes whatever is left. ]

So, this is just home for you? You weren't displaced. Interesting. [ Because he's still adjusting to this place. The differences and similarities that it has to his own version of home. ] All of this is just regular everyday living for you huh?

Pretty much.

[She slides into the seat closer to the edge of the boat so he doesn't have to climb over her before shrugging.]

Not to say that it doesn't have it's own complications and shades of weird, but the magic and the Veil - I've lived with it my whole life.

[ Steve plants himself next to Malina in the open seat and turns to look at her while they talk. ]

Wow. I often used to think my world had it's own little brand of weird ya know. Aliens. Gods. Robots trying to take over the world. You must've seen a whole bunch of stuff though over on this side.

[Malina smirks a bit at that before holding up a finger.]

Oddly enough, I can say that the knights have dealt with something related to all of the above.

I heard about Thor and Loki showing up here.

[ Skye had been the one to lay that one out there. He still didn't understand the situation or how it ended. ]

Didn't know you guys had an aliens flooding the city problem.

Aliens flooding the city, no. But my last mission did have a space ship. And I have a friend who's a talking raccoon from outer space.

[She gives a small shrug like that's the kind of weird we get.]

I've learned to keep an open mind.

I wasn't aware outer space had talking raccoon's.

[ Ha. Ha. Ha. Steve that's your world she's talking about. Get with the times. ]

Where did the space ship come from? Like--was there a reason for it?

It was implied that he crashed. But it turns out it's captain was actually from here, got abducted, and just recently found his way back again.

I can tell you flying things isn't easy.

[ Hahaha. Get it? Because he crashed and turned into a popsicle for seventy years? Funny times. ]

Who was the captain?

Peter Quill. Not a bad guy - he's a squire now, so we'll see how he does.

[ The boats filled up by now and that's when it starts to move. Steve doesn't seem phased by the sudden movement though. He just looks back at Malina. ]

Really? Well, I'll have to look the guy up. Swap alien notes with him.

You should. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it either way.

I sure would. It's not everyday you get to swap alien notes with people.

[ Doing it with Thor didn't count because he had seen every species under the sun and Steve had just seen the one. ]

You're actually a full fledged knight right?

[She glances over and nods.]

Yeah, I was only a squire for six months. I'm in the Dragon's Fire.
