OPEN - (1: Natasha setting up blind dates for Steve Rogers / 2: dates with Steve Rogers)

WHO ||

1). PART ONE is: Natasha Romanoff + any ladies in particular of the castle who are at least over 18. (Please read this for more details, including how to sign up.)

2). PART TWO is: Steve Rogers + his dates!

WHAT || If you specified that you wanted to play out the initial interaction with Natasha, this is what is happening in the first part of this log. The second part of the log is the actual dates!

There will be a thread starter (edit: here now! ) for the initial interaction with Natasha (I'd rather multi-thread this than have it single thread, for the sake of my sanity). Jesse, however, is the guy to talk to about starters for the dates with Steve.

WHERE || In and around the castle, with Natasha. For Steve, anywhere the date is happening.
WHEN || Natasha and Steve talked again at the April after party, so we can say this is ... May/June? I can adjust if needed, however.
HOW || Prose or action.

[ Steve is very sorry, but the moment she acknowledges that her dress is awful he can't help, but laugh. She took fashion advice from teenagers. He knows people call some of his shirts old man shirts, but he tries to pave his own path. He shakes his head and presses a hand to his chest. ] I'm sorry, but wow. That's an interesting dress. [ He winces. ] Here. [ He shrugs his jacket off and hands it off to her. ] Might help.

[ she takes it with a grateful smile, shrugging it on and flipping her hair out of the collar of it. ] Let's just say it's been awhile since I've hit the dating scene and I panicked.

[ If anything it'll distract people from the top part of her dress. The bottom part isn't truly terrible. Then again Steve isn't really the best judge of fashion. He thinks flannel and plaid are acceptable all year around. ]

I understand. I had a uh--seventy year dry spell. Dating changed from the forties. Big time. [ Steve moves around to sit in the chair opposite her. ]

I can imagine. [ as a native of this world, she's a lot less shocked at the idea of being 70+ and looking young and hot, ok. there's... plenty of races that look human enough that could account for it. ] Was that a matter of choice or-- I certainly can't imagine lack of opportunity. Or is that too personal a question?

[ Unfortunately in Steve's world the only way to have that happen is if you're actually aging properly. Or you're a God like Thor. Steve's one of a kind back home. ]

The dry spell? Well, it's a complicated story. [ He takes a deep breath. ] I uh--had to do something kinda stupid to save a lot of people. Had to crash a plane. Where I crashed I wound up getting encased in ice. Froze me. They think it slowed my aging too. Which was significantly slowed already. Took a little seventy year nap until they found me.

[ her eyes widen substantially at the tale. ] I... didn't even realize something like that was possible.

[ Steve sucks in a deep breath and lets it out slowly. A sigh as he tries to keep the emotion from his face regarding what happened. ]

Me either. The people who injected me with the serum definitely didn't realize that I'd be capable of that.

I guess you had slightly bigger things on your mind than... dating.

Yeah. Saving the world from HYDRA kind of got in the way of dating.

[ He smiles though. He can still joke. ]

Plus I wasn't really that good with women from before the serum. My dates kind of always went down the drain.

Maybe this one can manage to go up it, instead. [ she glances down at her ensemble ] I mean, considering the great start.

[ Steve's gaze follows down to where hers lands and he smiles wide. ]

True. It's really picked up speed with that outfit alone. [ He tilts his head. ] Who recommended you wear this anyway?

Oh no. I'm not implicating anyone. I deserve all the blame for listening in the first place.

That's very honorable of you. Taking the full blame. I woulda ratted them out in a second.

[ He still wants to know though. ]

You're brave for taking their advice though.

[ she laughs at that abruptly ] I suppose that's one word for it.

What word were you thinking of?

[ It's sorta brave to take the advice of the youths of today. They're super weird to Steve. ]

Foolishly optimistic, maybe.

Well, that's two words.

[ He points out with a smile. ]

I wouldn't say foolishly though. You don't strike me as the foolish type. Optimistic though--yeah.

Guilty as charged, I suppose. There are worse things to be.

Look at it this way. You totally got my attention in that thing.

[ He grins across the table at her. ]

Alright. Getting off the topic of that--dress. [ He shakes his head. ] How long you been with the Knights?

Sort of another trick question. I... left for awhile.

[ Now he's interested. It seems like there's something else behind that. He takes a chance to ask though. There's always the chance she'll tell him to buzz off. ]

Why'd you leave?

Because I wasn't sure if this was where I actually belonged, or if everyone just expected it of me.

My family are legacy Knights. My father, my mother, my grandfather...

I can respect that. You were making sure it was for the right reasons. That's good. It means your loyalty to this place is real. Not just manufactured by your family ties.

I'm glad you get it.

I'll be honest. There was a time in my youth when I wondered if my desire to enlist was because of my father being in the Army or if I really wanted to serve my country. Sometimes you just have to know.
