You didn't let him become a killer. Not everyone has the stomach for that kind of thing. It eats people up, even when they know they were in the right to do it. I can't tell you for sure that Mark's the kinda guy who'd lose sleep over it, but no one has to find out now.

[Yeah, Mark did all the work, but Rose still finished him off and in as elegant a way as one can. Not about glory or about stealing the kill or about taking back the night for a variety of people harmed, but because she'd anticipated Dimitris being an honorless snake and was ready for it.

In the end, the bastard's end hadn't come about because any one person "deserved" the kill, but because of protecting Mark and those Mark loves. In the end, it was still about Andres. About Thomas. Rose may have been a name on a list of people who owed Dimitris pain, but she hadn't made it about her.

Really, he can turn around and apply it to Decker, too, for all that he wanted that kill, to take the life of someone who played so carelessly with Jade's. He's as satisifed as can be that what done him in was the willpower and resolve of a girl- the very same things he clearly found cause to have Jade killed over.]
Either way, that chapter's done.
