Cordelia and Steve have gotten together to plan a rather fun party to celebrate Sarandis being taken down. Abbie even managed to grab them a rather awesome band to entertain the guests and everything else was hand picked and decided on by Cordy and Steve. It's not as fancy as a squiring after party, but it's just as fun. The ballroom has been "dressed down" a little to match the relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves!

[ He's always going to see a distinct difference between Felicity and Archer no matter what she tells him. Well, unless she says she murdered some people doing their jobs and then screamed out the window at them very pleased. Maybe then. ]

And I'm guessing innocent people died?

Which is pretty big because I've got a few friends who say I'm not very good at lying.

[ Mostly Natasha. ]

[ Steve does take up that space next to her. He looks a little confused about the last comment because him and Cordelia just made things official. Apparently she's decided to share the news. ]

What happened with Cordelia?

[beatupgrass]

[he gives her a sidelong look and then turns away. he's terrible at sympathy.] People are flarked up, ain't they?

Trade you. [ But under her humor, there's understanding. There's restlessness in bumming around the castle. ] What's the Dean drama this week?

Oh, so that's her name. I didn't catch it between her telling me that I'm hallucinating my demon-fighting superpowers and recounting all the dropping out of high school I did right before she started running her mouth about the wedding.

[slay]

Sweets! You ... [ She presses her lips together and nods, observing his ...earnest ... dancing. ] Look ready for the drinks table. Wanna boogie over with me?

[hacker]

Yeah, maybe don't charter a trip to Italy anytime soon, then. It's not much better.

[familybusiness]

Maybe next time. [His is equally teasing, because he gets it too. He's sure what she went through wasn't exactly easy. He's been there too many times himself.] Nothing particularly new. Just...nearly losing Rose kind of messed him up, you know?

[/broken laughter]

He's still in knots about that? That's ... [ like ok no offense she doesn't quite understand but also no one else takes rezzes months-rough. ] Does Rose know?

[ Steve quietly takes her hand and leads her outside with him. He doesn't say anything, but he does look up at the sky. He positions Cordy in a specific spot and points upwards. ]

That is Ursa Major. They call it the Great Bear. Wanna know why?

[recruited]

[ He stares at Buffy like maybe he entered World War three when he wasn't looking. Because this all seems really weird. ]

I think she's just trying to be protective. Back home my mortality kind of is a non-issue. I got shot on the mission and I think it maybe just freaked her out? [ He is assuming that she was talking to Buffy about him being hurt and not the Archer situation. ] I didn't come to talk about her though.

[ she studies it for a moment, looking pretty clueless, and glancing over at him finally ] ... A poor grasp on what animals look like?

He's lost everyone he's ever cared about. Violently or worse. He finally lets someone back in, and within a couple years, they get blown up by a tank right in front of him. He carried her mangled body back inside. I'm not sure he'll ever quite get over it. Not really.

[He'll sure as hell act like it, but he's also probably drinking himself to death, too.]

[ He chuckles softly as he moves behind her. He outstretches one arm to point at it as he speaks softly into her ear. #Romantic. ]

The Romans have their own legend. They say that Jupiter, the King of the Gods, was lusting after a beautiful young woman named Callisto. Enter Jupiter's wife who was named Juno. Now Juno was very jealous of Callisto and turned the woman into a bear. While in the woods Callisto was almost shot by her son who was named Arcas. Jupiter was able to intervene and to avert the tragedy and turned Arcas into a bear as well. He sent them both to live in the sky in safety. Together. Which is where we get Ursa Major. The Great Bear. Then we have Ursa Minor. The Smaller Bear.

[ She opens her mouth like she's ready to retaliate — I mean, correct him — but she stops when he course-corrects. Buffy tilts her head. ]
