Cordelia and Steve have gotten together to plan a rather fun party to celebrate Sarandis being taken down. Abbie even managed to grab them a rather awesome band to entertain the guests and everything else was hand picked and decided on by Cordy and Steve. It's not as fancy as a squiring after party, but it's just as fun. The ballroom has been "dressed down" a little to match the relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves!

Wow. That's a lot of retelling. [ Steve smiles though because he's thoroughly amused by her. ] We should throw more parties together. [ What Rose and him talked about on the plane is still in the back of his mind. The easing into a talk. Sorta. ] You and me.

We totally should! Do you have a birthday coming up? I mean, we might have a hard time with the candles fitting on the cake, but they make those number ones now...

[ Steve laughs, but only because he can't tell if she's joking or if she's actually being serious about the candles thing. Still it's funny. He's not had anyone, but his mother throw him a party. Back then only one person came besides his mom. ]

July fourth. You gonna throw me a party? Never had someone do that before.

[ she just... shoves him on the chest lightly ] Get out! Your birthday is not the fourth of July.

[ Steve is still all grins because not many people believe him. ] That's the day I was born. Promise.

So what you're saying is, we should start a betting pool on who is secretly displaced royalty.

[Lorne lets out a low whistle as he comes in on the tail-end of another retelling of the duel story, drink in hand as he offers Cordelia his most winsome smile.]

Lovely victory shindig you put together. Think I might be able to convince you to make room for me on your dance card later on, princess?

Someone had to be the one to admit what we were all thinking. Some people think it's tacky, but I'm pretty sure they're just in denial.

And... sure, I guess. Why not?

I don't think anyone would have pegged Mark, so maybe it's the least likely suspect.

I don't know why I'm surprised anymore. How do you even deal with living in England?

No. [ she scoffs. ] I can't get drunk. We've had this talk, Alex. Are you drunk? [ she points at him accusingly and automatically tracks her finger like what's that. ]

I spent time all over the world during the war. I happen to think England's pretty swell.

Their laces are just tied too tight. Nothing wrong with a little celebration.

[Lorne is here for any opportunity to toss back a few drinks and let off some stress, thanks.]

Yeah? [His smile brightens, genuine.] Aren't you a doll. Bet you're booked pretty solid all night, huh?

Mostly by a certain man of the hour. [ she glances around the room to wherever steve is at the moment ] He was on the team who took Dimitris down, you know.

Enthusiasm is not a bad thing. At least not in my book.

[He nods.]

Recently remodeled thanks to Sarandis' attack, but yeah. It's my own office space.

In my experience, bad guys never know when to quit. Dignity? Not really all that big a concern for them.

Also, the whole damn thing probably started because Kat and Des knocked out two innocent paramedics so we could steal their ambulance.

[Otherwise, the cops wouldn't have even known to look for them.]

[He's been doing his best to get caught up since the whole thing went down, and he's caught snippets of the story being told and retold since the party started.]

I'll have to congratulate him, along with the rest. They're all heroes today-- and other days, sure, but you know what I mean.

Yeah and they probably regret that decision because it brought the cops down on them. Archer was yelling at the cops like it was a game.

[ Steve rubs the back of his head. ]

[ her grin grows to match his, light dancing in her eyes at the words ] How do you do that?

I dunno. I sorta just speak from the heart? I hope for the best. I don't say things I don't mean.
