It's been a long couple of weeks of surveillance crap. Maybe this Knights thing is not as glamorous as it was first made out to be. Or maybe Wynn just handed off a dud of a mission to the Island of Misfit Squires to get them out of the way while the grown ups took care of the serious problems back home.

Either way, Gar interrupts the evening activities at the apartment when she comes in with a look of giddy triumph on her face, calling for everyone to gather into the main room. Kat pokes her head out from her bedroom, laptop cord trailing off from the computer in her hands. She kicks it aside when she sees Sven and Spike, as if to get it out of their way, even if they're across the room. Dumage plops onto the couch beside Mark, who glances over at her with a tight lipped expression, before turning to Gar.

"Well?" he asks. "What've we got?"

Gar draws a pen out of her case and gestures to Kat to put the laptop on the table. She unscrews the pen, revealing a USB port, and plugs it in, pulling up a scanned image of what looks like a scrap of paper, written in a scrawled hand. She turns it around for them to view, sitting back in satisfaction.

"What we've been looking for," is her proud reply.

Seconding that, hardcore. [Kat leans over Gar's shoulder to read the slip] So the 9th has to be a date, right? [Her eyes drift to the computer date] A date like tomorrow? Do we think that means tomorrow?

[Martha peers at the slip, too] It could be that, or it could be a street name? Nightscape on 9th Street, or something like that.

Or both. Some of us could get heavy research mode, figure out places on 9th, maybe hoof it down there and take a look around today to scope it out. [ A beat. ] ... In the subtlest, spy-iest way possible. Obviously.

[bigbad]

I'd rather do the 'hoofing it' part. [A nervous glance over at Kat, who doesn't seem to have forgiven him for the fire incident that wasn't even a little bit his fault. But if it means he gets out of research, he's fine with it.]

[rationalizes]

Well, I can assure you that Nightscape isn't located on 9th Street, as we previously discovered these satellite GPS photographs which seem to indicate the location of a business by that same name. [She'll pull those up too.] They're located downtown, but nowhere near 9th Street.

The problem is that there's no actual visible building registered to anything by that name there. The entire block is composed of offices.

I'll see what I can dig up on the name, if some of you want to go down there while we've still got some time.

Guessing we don't have an indicator of when this whole exchange would be happening tomorrow...? [Gar shakes her head regretfully]

[He opens his eyes from the nap he may or may not have been taking to interject.] At night, obviously. Night, nightscape?

9th floor of an office building? [ At Sven's suggestion of night, she seems to pause to consider for a moment. ] ... 9 PM?

[Mark wags a finger in Sven's direction] He's got a point. What kind of place called Nightscape is open ... during the day?

[slays]

The kind that's searching out a clever misnomer to keep it extra hidden? [ A beat. She looks around. ] ... It's unlikely.

[witchwoman]

[Assuming someone has taught Myri how to shot calendar...]

I think Sir Kat is right. Today is the... Eighth day? [She looks around for confirmation] Something so important would likely not be planned too far ahead in advance. Especially if it was meant to be done in secret. Time only leaves opportunities for discovery.

Makes sense. The closer to the wire they plan it, the better.

Which leaves us without a whole lot of wire. I'm thinking all nighter research party for this kid.
