It's been a week since Sir Jeanne Gar was abducted by agents of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, despite the Knights' efforts to thwart the attempt.  Several of the younger Knights learned a harsh lesson as they watched the Mind Master shake even the seasoned Sir Hasmed, and turn some of their number on each other.   While Wynn has announced that they are determined to find a way to save Gar, it''s certainly obvious why he's hesitant to send agents out, after what the Mind Master alone has done to several Knights, including Finnick Odair, who may never be the same.  

A dark cloud hangs over the Knighthood, either way, dampening any enthusiasm won from their victory in finally taking down Dimitris Sarandis and two other notable members of the Shadow-hating Church led by Draken Crombe.

The sun is still up in the late evening, on this day, but there's a heaviness in the air.

Do you think it would be worth giving up our powers to keep anyone else from being pulled here like we were? Like all the others. Losing parts of themselves and being unable to ever return?

[Cora wants to be selfish and say no, that protecting other people isn't worth sacrificing her own identity in the process. She doesn't want to be human. She never wanted to be human. She wouldn't even know what to do with it.]

I don't think it's our decision to make.

[Which is a cop out but it's true. That decision belongs to whoever truly controls the Veil and what they think is best.]

I think either way, there will be consequences we may not be able to predict.

[grumpypuppy]

Maybe. But I just... I can't shake the feeling that we would help more preventing these monsters coming into this world, and only having to handle the problems that exist here.

[impetere]

[She makes a face before shaking her head.]

That's the problem. Most of the monsters are from this world. Sarandis wasn't Shadowkind - he just exploited them.

I'm still trying to figure a lot of this place out. But something in me tells me there is more to all of this than what we're being told. I want to learn more before I make up my mind though.

[impetere]

So then we'll wait and see what Wynn says.

[She pauses for a moment.]

I don't think he would do something that dangerous.

[grumpypuppy]

But would he do something to keep danger happening to keep having power?

[impetere]

[Her eyes widen at that before she shakes her head.]

The Knights are all about protecting people from abuses of power, from people like Sarandis. Whatever his reasons are for doing this, I don't think they're for power.

[grumpypuppy]

I hope not. I really like the idea of us helping people for the right reasons.

[impetere]

Me too.

[Beyond that, things would only get more complicated.]

[grumpypuppy]

[nods]

Well, that's all I wanted to talk to you about.

[impetere]

[She nods.]

Okay.

[And she's back to the awkward not knowing what to do with Derek phase.]

[he nods, going to stand up since he's still awkward in all this too]

Yeah, see you later.
